Help Guide a 2.2

Well here's the deal..I wanna build up my balt for more power. The only problem is is that my rods/pistons are only rated to 250hp. I dont know much about internals. Can someone help guide me on which is best to buy and what exactly I need to do this? thanks

I'm doing mine once all the parts get here. just a mild build tho. Got the rods and pistons from that link above(email them and you can get them for 750 shipped), arp headstuds from ttr, gonna get some valve springs from zzp and then i got a new head gasket, rod and main bearings, and valve cover gasket kit from the dealer in town. I'll be doing it myself with a buddy. Just go by the build book and torque everything right.

If your building a roots style supercharged motor I would never dip below the factory compression. It's part of the reason the 2.2 makes so much torque with the M62. You will you gain more power probably not but reliabilty yes. Dropping compression will actually cause you to lose torque and possibly horsepower.

not trying to bash but this is just dumb.

1. our heads flow like ass and not even too great when ported and polished even though its a huge increase.
2. u will spend a lot of money for minimal gains.
3. depending on wat compression u go..anything over 12:1 really it wouldnt be very wise to run pump gas even if its 93. U would probly need a mix of race gas and 93 at a bare minimum
4. if u wanna go NA plz get a v8 u will thank me afterwards

you said this completely backwards lol u will gain more power from higher compression but u will sacrifice reliablity lol its safer to run lower compression on boost but not needed unless ur shooting for over 400 IMO which i am so i swapped to 8.9:1 for safety reasons.

But i know that u know wat ur talking about just from ur other posts

u will need a tune for just the air and fuel mods...if u added stock compression pistons and rods a tune is not needed...if u change injectors or a throttle body or something like that is when the tune is really needed

not to thread jack but I respect your idea of going N/A. However, cost wise and power wise IMO Supercharging is the way to go.

the link is for 10.1 compression and rods for a 2.2 so if u put those in no tune is needed. if u did these engine internals are u gonna still use the m62 blower?

a parts list u would NEED is rods, pistons, rod beaings, main, bearings, arp headstuds, and a new head gasket at the minimum.

you won't need a tune until you turn the boost up or drop pulley size in your case
