help waterpump
ok so i have my car in the shop getting the headgasket done and my arp headstuds installed .. cause my car was getting anitfreeze in the oil so i figured the head gasket was bad so its in the shop and the machanic said the head gasket was fine also the block wasnt cracked but he said the head maybe warped so he refinished it .. but also he was telling me if the water pump goes bad that will cause anitfreeze to get into my oil which i think hes wrong but what do you guys think? thanks
Water pump is driven by the balance shaft chain. if the front seal of the pump fails it can fill the crankcase with coolant. Mechanic is right on the money. Its much more common for them to leak externally though.

If the seal is compromised the pump is probably the culpret, I have a water pump for sale, thread is in my sig... Hate to be a buzzard but if you need it I am sure my price is worlds below dealer price.
Ive yet to see a GM waterpump where the shaft seal doesnt keep coolant in. I cant really imagine a mechanically driven pump that doesnt have coolant on one side of the shaft seal.
