Hmmm.......Patriot Stuff

Patriot (whom I know from their LS1/LS6 heads that are pretty decent) offer a 2.2 head pakage as well.

Im sorry but can you explain what this does? I know it boost the car, but I'm new to this pretty much. Shoulda took auto class but eh. Can you explain as to why I would spend 1500 on this?

I'ma get a turbo for a coupe once I get the money (and have GM install it of course) would this allow me to push more boost from it?

Well, traditionally, turboed cars don't really care about heads, intake, etc. because it's creating boost regardless but a heads/cam upgrade will make it easier for the turbo to create that boost. So theoretically the car with the heads/cam will make more power at the same boost level than the car without. The common solution to this is generally just to turn up boost. Make sense? Heads and cam are ususally a focus of N/A (naturally aspirated) cars as carefully chosen pieces that compliment each other can be key to a very fast car. In this case, this heads/cam with higher compression pistons and intake/exhaust can obtain the same power levels as the SS/SC car already does stock. Then you can turbo that combination. Turbo's and superchargers can only create power based on a percentage of what your car already makes. Most common superchargers/turbos will show a 40-50% increase of the motors N/A power. So the 2.2L w/145 HP = aprox 217HP w/ supercharger/turbocharger. Or your modified 2.2 that has 210HP already will now make 315.
This is literal loose math and torque is more important than HP but hopefully this helps. Alot of variables can change what I just said.

the key thing to remember:

More air in equals more power out.

so with heads that have bigger ports and smoother runners you are getting more air to your engine to be able to burn more fuel which makes a bigger bang which produces more torque which is translated into horsepower through your drivetrain! so. more air, more power.

you will learn more, just keep reading around, it will take some time, but stick with the simple stuff and learn as you go. you will get it. and always feel free to ask around! car guys love to talk!
