How do I get my cobalt extremely loud?
Run a header with an open downpipe with no cat.
If you want an OK sounding exhaust that's real loud:
Run a header with a 3" downpipe with no cat to a custom 3" exhaust with no resonator to a straight through muffler.
There is also the ability to run side exit exhaust in front of the rear driver side wheel.

Personally, I found that driving a loud car is fun for a short time. After a while it gets really annoying... the two chamber Flowmasters on my Mustang get really annoying on the freeway if I am driving for more than 15 minutes.
Just something to consider.

so...i finally put my GMPP on today...and decided to run the car with no cat-back....actually sounded nice...loud as hell, but very nice...super deep idle with a loud as hell throttle at 4kRPMs, didnt take it louder...hell i cant even imagine what that would have sounded like...

I currently just have a rACTIVE univeral muffler. How much louder would a cat-back system be compared to just a muffler? I'm kind of also looking for the most economic way to make it louder. Should I just get a set of headers or a different down pipe, or a high flow catalytic converter. Which of those make it louder?
well it may not bolt upside down...if thats the case then simply get you some exhaust pipe and weld one to each exhaust port on the block pointing upward. then take a skill saw and saw a hole large enough in your good for all the pipes to stick out.
Ill be willing to bet that if thats not loud enough there is something wrong with you.
