156ish... that's my guess... i have no clue how well these motors respond to mods.... that is with gm's number of ponies being the mark tho...

um but with others dynos in 2.2's i'd say 130....

well the Cavalier IS a different car...I'm sure some weight and small other differences give him a little extra power.

My guess based on a modded 2.2 dyno that I've seen is that you'd hit somewhere around 135whp with slightly more torque.

I thought 130whp was average for the base balt? With those three mods I would think around 145ish....maybe I'm wrong.

um on a dyno, with a car (such as the cavalier) that has the exact same drivetrain as the cobalt, would be equivelant to that of the cobalt. the cobalt claims 5 more hp than the cav, this is a result of having an electric steering pump, so how is a cavalier going to have MORE power than a cobalt? if anything, being lighter is just going to increase your 1/4

that is true, Ions dyno 120whp stock...however isn't the Cobalt rated like 5HP more? whatever, 125whp then...seeing a 25whp gain from I/H/E still sounds crazy to me. However I wouldn't complain...

that thread shows a guy with 150 though, thats all he has, as well as a TB spacer, but i wouldnt imagine thats doing too much.

im pretty sure the 5 more hp was the result of having coated pistons in the cobalt the electric steering just helps get more power to the ground

weight has nothing to do with dyno results. If anything, the only factor that would make a difference between those two cars would be the length of the driveshaft. (see: motor to wheel power loss)

its a bigger number and looks more impressive!

FWD/AWD/RWD manual and automatic all have different loss %

No numbers are good when your several thousand feet above sea-level anyhow. I am missing more then a few hp!

I'd like to see what my car is like at (or very close to) sea-level. Whole different animal then.

i know but that still seems pretty high...maybe he has a factory freak or something. Who knows, we need more 2.2 dynos to compare.

Companies rate engines by flywheel HP for a reason.

Manual tranmission cars will have more WHP than Automatics, 2WD will have more than 4WD. To many variables to mess with especially on a mass production basis.

Just for ***** and giggles I dynoed my 2001 Z24, I got 139 WHP with just a K&N drop-in filter.
