off the wall question

I dont want to get any flaming for this but my cobalt is my daily driver i have a "fast/show car" so the question im going to ask is for a daily driver.. I have a 4 wheeler and plan on getting another very shortly, do you think that this car would be able to tow a trailer with one or both of the quads on it with out problems.... seems to be enough torque from the 2.2 and mine is a 5 speed so its my fault if the transmission gets abuse. Do you think i should get some helper airbags for the rear just a thought.. thanks for your opions and like i said this is still just a idea i have not done anything yet.

You may want to check the owners manual for reference to see what the limits are as far as towing and recomended towing pounds.

I'm not sure if anyone here has towed anything or even went as far as to put a tow hitch on their Cobalt. But, you never know.

ive actually read the owers manual about that it says not to tow with the car i think you might be safe with one but 2 would be pushing it my sis did tow a trailer cross country while moving with her pre ecotec cavy and it still running you could always get a pos truck to just tow with

Hey wait, i have an 05 LS and it says my towing capacity is 1000lbs, its not alot. but it says not to tow with the SS/SC model...wierd.
its on page 4-35 in my manual, says to consult the dealer, but in the catalog that you get at the dealer, it says 1000 lbs.

Chevy's website says "NOTE: Trailering with Cobalt is not recommended." which does infact contradict the manual...

My truck is a 2000 4x4 Sport Ranger XLT Supercab and that I use for trailering. I would not even think of using my daily driver (Cobalt) for pulling anything cause its to light and I wouldn't trust the stopping power of the brakes. In short I think it could be dangerous for those sudden stops that occur because of other less considerate drivers on the road.
