How would the install go?

How would the install of the alpha turbo kit go in an auto? Will it fit? Will it **** up the engine (not talking about tranny here)

Just wondering what exactly they mean by manual only. Not just the fact that we will get clutch slip...Im wondering about physical fitment, and perhaps anything else that may be of concern for me..I've heard BOV's are sort of unecessary in autos before, what would happen, things along that line.

In case anyone is interested, im waiting to see how novajoes tranny holds up to his supercharger build, and if its good enough news im going to throw on the turbo kit on my auto in the spring time.

IDK if it will even fit, but there is no tuning ability for the auto. If you just slap the turbo system on you're going to run into serious serious trans issues, if it even works at all.

I'm sure fitment wouldn't be an issue with the auto trans. The tuning is the main problem, but could probably be overcome with a different tourque converter

As far as installing it there's not a whole lot to it. remove your stock exhaust manifold and drop your exhaust off the first hanger or two for fitting room. Bolt up the turbo and mount your intercooler then plumb it all out using the provided piping. Tap your oil pan and/or coolant lines for your turbo and run the lines. Then install your injectors, booster pump, and whatever other sensors and such the kit might come with. Run a fuel return line if the kit requires it. Then throw the provided ecu in and you're golden.

I'm not a big fan with the kit coming with a pre-set unchangeable tune, but it sure does make install alot easier.

the issue is in not being able to adjust the trans computer.

oh and bovs are just as important in autos as in manuals. Even though you don't have to let your foot off the throttle to shift, you're going to want to eventually...

Ok to everyone who answered with transmission answer, trust me im well aware of this. I was just curious if the turbo itself would work slightly differently in an auto or not. Either way im pretty sure im going to do it. a turbo + bolt ons ( < or = 250 hp is all im really willing to do money wise) so. I would like to keep it an auto becuase the vehicle is driven by my girlfriend alot, but if I blow the tranny with the shift plus I probly will be going manual

The kit will fit an auto. If you look at the pictures, the piping goes over the valve cover. Celicacobalt has it on his 2.4 auto. Keep in touch with him on how hiw tranny is holding up because hes had it on for a couple months now. Its the same tranny.

ok well lets me ask this: is the trannys "computer" seperate from the cars ecm? In other words, could I get a 2.4l tranny computer and swap it for mine, use hp tuners to tune it? I realize that even if that worked I would get mad cels im just curious

Or maybe a better question is...would 2.4l auto parts already be "pre-set" to shift higher hp applications?

and/or are nterchangable with ours (same tranny ran by dif system... ? confusing)

im pretty sure that it has something to do with the transmission shift solenoid.....as in manual trans you your self are the solenoid because your manually shifting the tansmission it would prolly blow your main
