I need a more power!!!!
OK i have a 2007 2.2. I wanted to know if the garret turbo would work on my year. Also i wanted to get a 2.4 intake manifold, will the turbo still hook up properly? All i have right now is a cai and some sticky tires for a better launch, i must go faster!!

All of the parts in Garrett's "GT Tuner" turbo kit will bolt up, but it will leave the exhaust manifold air injection pipe hanging open. Also, since their tuning solution will not work on '07-'08 cars, you will have to find another way to deliver the additional fuel needed.
I just ordered a tuning setup from a company called "Carputing". One of the owners told me that their LS2_Edit product supports the '07-up Cobalts with the E37 control unit. Whether it actually works and how functional it will be, I have yet to find out. I ordered it Thursday (3/6) and it is scheduled to ship out on Monday. If it works out, I'll be sure and let everybody know, since most of the L61 guys are waiting for a tuning solution.
As for using the 2.4 intake manifold on an otherwise-stock 2.2, you'll lose a substantial amount of midrange torque in order to gain a marginal amount of top-end power. In order to take advantage of the larger manifold without forced induction, you'd need more aggressive cams and/or a ported head. As of now, I don't think anyone offers cams that will work with the '07-up 2.2, due to the new intake cam having a reluctor wheel pressed onto the back for the cam sensor. I'm currently trying to investigate whether the actual casting is the same as the early cam. GM literature states that the reluctor is pressed onto the cam, so it is possible that they could have used the same casting. If that were the case, in theory, you could be able to press the reluctor off of the stock intake cam and press it onto an aftermarket cam, provided that you were able to index it properly. All of this is my own speculation at this point as I am still in the process of investigating this.

He never mentioned secondary air injection. Maybe he doesn't have it.
Secondary Air Injection on late production 2006 L61's
You can get bolt ons for now, but a turbo would be a good idea if you "must go faster!!"

go to advanced auto or pep boys and ask for a breather filter. take this filter (its small) and put it directly on the end of the tube that used to go to SAI. annnnddddd your done, thts it. better safe than sorry. i dont have SAI but i would be interested to find out if you guys throw a code when u pull the fuse for the SAI air pump.
