Im bakc after bashing gm's cars. I bought a base 2.2 for work (i drive 200 miles a night). Got the pile for 10k brand new. Supporting my Previous thoughts. My 4th gear has grinded since day one and this pile of garbage gets 28 mpg hwy. If you intelligent people have any ideas lemme know. and the tailpipe is full of carbon.

Yeah the F23 transmission grinds like a *****.

The carbon build up in the tail pipe means you are running a little rich. Which happens to be a good thing.

It's an econobox, wish you could get more MPG out of it. Maybe you should be sweeter to it

Figures. Good thing I still got my 1990 civic sedan that gets 38 city and 44 hwy, oh and with 215k on it. Okay well thanks to the one good response. Yeah well i cant drive it without having to give it half or more throttle in 5th to keep up the speed limit. My 05 ls got 31 mpg no matter how i stomped it.

i've rode in the OP's car. it's janky. how does gm have a car that is so poorly tuned that even with 2 cat converters it has a tailpipe covered in black. its as bad as my stage 2 SS.

for comparison, my daily is an 06 automatic 2.2 and i get the same or better mpg.

 

And i still will defend the eco forever but who in the hell is building these things? I am really good friends with a mod too.

I dont hate gm, i like the power plants and they have paid for my medical insurance for all my life.

yeah mine will get 99 mpg if i drive it off a cliff, according to the DID, i mean it could be wrong.

And maybe when i get a good answer, ill show some respect. Not just from you guys, but from a dealer, whatever. im still planning on getting the sedan turbo when it comes out as my leisure car. But this thing is awful.
