^^^what he said. I have it set up as CAI right now, but I plan to switch back to the short ram during the winter because of all of the road salt we get here.

Hey all,

Does anyone know the gains of the Injen SRI vs. the CAI setup? I doubt you would get the full 7 hp off of both setups. Thanks

if you'll be driving through any puddles then you may want to avoid it.

the only way u can hydrolock your engine is if the filter is submerged in water and you suck in into your engine.

stay away from 3 foot puddles and you should be okay

just buy an air bypass valve, and you'll be fine
not expensive at all

AEM Sells one, I am not 100% sure on the price, but I think it runs around $60.00

From experience, I think its safe to assume that most of your gain is from removing the intake tube, which is used mostly to make your intake quieter.... what a waste... going to go with the CAI myself probably injen, i wont worry about the air bypassvalve... i live in FL maitland no flooding here

Here's the link for it: http://www.aempower.com/product_intake.asp?subCatID=3

Realistically you will probably never need it, but in case the worst case scenario DOES happen, and you completely submerge your air filter, you will be glad that you bought it!

Again, the chance of you actually doing this are extremely slim. But if you dont ever want to worry about it, spend the extra money and have peace of mind!
