Can you disassemble the cluster and pull a bulb? Or electrical tape.

open the cluster. take the face off. and put tape over the icon.
therefore when the light goes on you wont see it.

You wouldn't only have to put tape over the icon. You would have to put tape over the display then you can't see the miles on your car or outside temp, coolant temp...

A few guys have done it. BLAZIN07 for one, John Powell for another. Maybe one of them can offer a suggestion.

If you can find out the resistance that the air bag has, for the love of god don't test it I've seen dvm's set them off, you can make a resistor pack that you should be able to put in its place in the harness. But you have to get the right resistance or it could set off the other airbags.

How's that for a real answer?

Yeah a couple of different brands use and have used them at different times for testing the systems. Hell maybe GM uses them I have no idea, if they do maybe someone on here can tell you the resistance.

First off check your local laws.

Here it's illegal to modify anything involved with the safety protection of your car. Insurance may not cover you anymore.

Why would you want to get rid of your airbags? A simple collision that would be easily survivable with the bag could now kill you.

False.
Airbags both save and take lives.
There is no guarantee that an airbag will save you nor that not having one will kill you. Its all going to be about how the accident plays out, if there is one.

Yup but they do more good then harm. Same as seat belts.

That's why they're mandatory in cars. Taking one out is a useless risk. Risk of life, injury and not being covered by insurance.

you would have to use some kind of program to get rid of the service airbag soon on the DIC if thats what your trying to do.
how thats done who the hell knows

my old rims they had no TPMS sensors. when i got my led cluster from a member on here he put black tape over the tpms light and the message would still come up on the dic but it wouldnt show the light.
