Intake time!

So I'm selling my engine cover to hopefully bump my money up enough to buy myself a nice new shiny Injen CAI. Where can I find it the cheapest... shipping to Canada? I'm on a budget, and don't want to get crap either.

Down the road I'm thinking I'll either polish or powder coat my valve cover. Which should I do? I'll get the black Injen if I decide to powder coat it.

Thanks!

Agreed,

Whay would I pay $75 for a pice of plastic that

A. comes on the car, so why would anyone need a second one
B. is not necessary
C. has to be removed everytime you need to do anything to the engine, ex. change oil
D. looks like crap (my opinion)

If I really wanted another one, I would go to a junk yard and pay maybe $10.

I have mine laying around and I'm willing to give it away for just the amount of money it costs to ship it. No way in hell is it worth anywhere near $75.

If you want an injen intake PM us, or checkout the vendor special section.

We ship USPS (yes it is a bit more than UPS or Fed EX) HOWEVER with USPS the duties and taxes are very low. If we would ship an intake UPS or Fed EX to canada, Taxes and duties when it comes to you (that you will have to pay to the Canada government) will be around $100

I work for UPS and packages that are going international have to have green stickers with some info on it so it would be cleared to be shipped.

I wouldn't be surprised.

Damn. That's a pain in the ass for sure.

I'm going to have to look around at local retailers... $100 for shipping is insane. :P

What? It DOES NOT cost $100 to ship.... Re read what we typed....

USPS (poastal service) DOES NOT charge as much for taxes and duties international. When you ship UPS and FED EX the duties and taxes are a crap load more. If you compare apples to apples, in the LONG run it will be cheaper to ship USPS...

USPS IS more for the actual shipping, however when you add the shipping and Duties to canada, it will be a lot less than using UPS or Fed EX... Anyone in canada that has bought anything before and has done both knows first hand....

Please do a bit of research before you post.

Oh! I'm sorry. The stuff in the parentheses threw me off. I've bought things off eBay and from different places in the US, and I do know how shipping works. I've usually gotten things by UPS but it was ground slow as can be UPS. If I ship things off, I use Canada Post, and use their cartons and stuff. It's only like $25 to California that way for a 5lb 13" x whatever parcel.

I'll look into buying from TurboTechRacing and see where my best deal is.

Always get nail with taxes. I got hit with duties and taxes on some used car parts, which were produced in North America. Which according to the NAFTA agreement I shouldn't have. Now I have to call them up and try to get it straightened out.

EXACTLY you have NEVER used USPS (government postal service) So I think you need to do a bit more research. USPS HAS LESS DUTIES AND TAXES MY FRIEND.

Plus look above you are the only one arguing against us. Eveyone else agrees after they read what we have to say.

yah cuz they are willing to take it up the ass when it comes to your shipping prices. i have had stuff shipped to me via usps especially when i buy from ebay..ill say it over and over again man...shipping companys are not allowed to change the dutys and taxs on a product...call the ****** government...the only thing they can add the price of it is a brokerage fee....now if thats what your talking about then sure..i belive that..buit there is no way at all that they can charge more dutys and taxs cuz that money does not go to them it goes to the government...so again.. i do my research. i really want u to understand that i am in no way bashing your company..all im stating is that you are wrong about this one thing.

The Canada governement DOES charge less to the consumer for taxes and duties when you use USPS. USPS on a $200 intake will cost the consumer $20-30 (in duties/taxes) where as if the SAME intake was shipped at the same value via UPS or Fed EX the duties/taxes would be $50-75.....

I have no idea why it is this way, but it is.... That is what we are saying. UPS and Fed EX ARE cheaper to ship than USPS, however by the time you add in the taxes and duties on the shipping, the USPS will be cheaper, that is our point. Again we dont know why it is but it is. Try it and you will see.... This is why members on this forum perfer USPS shipments. If Fed Ex was cheaper in the long run we would ship that method, but it is not.... So that is why we use USPS for Canada. We use Fed Ex for the USA becuase it is cheaper for them....

Also anything shipped USPS with a value less than $100 going to canada 99% of the time has NO taxes or duties....

This post has nothing to do with what we are talking about, so if you have further questions PM us.
