jet maf sensor is awsome

so i have a gmpp air intake 2.4L intake manifold and i have a 2.4l tb. i have no issue with the first 2 items (intake, manifold) i had the tb sitting around so i installed it and fell right into limp mode as expected so i took it off well in the process i ruined my stock maf and was throwing codes so instead of buying the stock one i said what the hell and i bought a jet performance one........

worked great so i also said what the hell and istalled the tb again and WOW no limp mode and the car runs great

i would recomend this to anyone who wants a 2.4l tb on ther 2.2L

i have an 07 g5 and i have had this setup running for 3 months with no problem

So let me get this straight (and yes I read the whole thing) all you did was install the Jet Performance MAF and were able to run the 2.4 TB with no issues what so ever? If thats the case I m going to the junk yard asap because I already have the Jet Performance MAF installed and was thinking I would have to get tuned.

One more question is the wiring the same like is it just plug and play or did you have to rewire the TB?

what are the documented gains on the jet maf alone.

Yeah I own one as well I just thought it wouldn't be able to compensate for the TB the main reason for the tune to install the TB is because of the increased volume of air fudges the throttle position sensor but I guess since thats what the Jet MAF sensor does is recalibrates the ecu for increased air flow that it could work for installing the 2.4 TB.

On another note could you please tell me is the wiring the same for the 2.2 and 2.4 TB? I want to know if its just plug in and go or if you have to mess with the wiring for it.

Also one last thing if all this is true this would be a cheaper route then having to get trifecta tuned for your 2.2. No offense to anyone who has used trifecta or trifecta themselves Ive never heard anything bad about them and I m not trying to bash the company its just this way would be cheaper $136 compared to $250

Will these work on a 2.4 or are they just for the 2.2s upgrading to a 2.4 mani?

Jet MAFs are really easy top find for like $175-180, $136 is probably shop cost or something.

I just tried looking up here www.auotanything.com that's where I purchased mine and it was for $134.95 and shipping was free. However, I just tried to find it through them and they don't sell it anymore

When I purchased mine they were available for both 2.2 and 2.4 but not for the 2.0. What it is is a reflashed stock unit used to recalibrate the ecu what people call a canned tune. All you do is use a phillips to take out your old MAF and put this new one in.

Does it make the ECM think that incoming outside air is cooler that it actually is..

No at least not to my knowledge what it does is recalibrate the ecu to allow more air flow so it allows your intake system to draw more air

So I would it "tunes" the computer to use more air?
Sorry for all the Dumb questions but I'm about to start doing work for more HP/T and this is my first time.

you know what i can't remember if the wiring was the same or not for the tb on the 2.4 vs 2.2 i have an 07 i thought it was a plug and play but i cant remember from my setup

pn is 69125 for 2.2 i dont know if its the same for the 2.4 i can check though

confirmed the 2.2l will work for the 2.4l

a trifecta tune will pwn the crap out of this POS jet maf...trifecta does a lot more than just tune for more air, they remove your PE delay, which is something that make 2.2's slower than they already are...u floor it, ur engine doesnt really do anything until ~5seconds after u go WOT, if you had a wideband u would see this, trifecta will remove PE dealy and do loads of other things, u think this MAF will compensate for more air??? load of horsecrap...

2.2's dont need anything to install a 2.4 manifold on their car, they just bolt it on and go, there is no need for this "jet maf" its just a waste of money, u want more power, get the car tuned

a MAF sensor will not recalibrate your ECM...its most likely lying ot yoru car about the air that is coming in, once again a MAF sensor will not calibrate ur ECM, u think it has the jet would charge so little for a tune??? no! once again that MAF sensor has no way of recalibrating ur ECM, no way in hell, it doesnt have the ability to travel up the MAF wires, make it to your ECM, and reprogram it with anything, its only lying to the ECM about the air its drawing in...

those maf wires do not have the power to reprogram anything!!! you really think that thru a 5 wires u can get to the ECM and change everything??? u really think that is possible??? u have a OBD2 port that has loads more wires, that leads to many other, that lead to the ECM, its has the power to get into the ECM and pull reading out and codes etc, your MAF wires do not
