They are claiming a 12 hp increase at the wheels. But they havent dyno'ed a 2.2 yet.

celicacobalt 09-14-2006 10:56 PM

i cant find it on there

SIMMONS 2.0 09-15-2006 10:16 AM

i dont see anything about the 2.2 at all...sure he told you right?

ludicristSS 09-15-2006 10:31 AM

Guys we are doing the 2.2 PCM we are basing our numbers off of our caviler tune [similar motor ] . Westers hasn't got one on the dyno yet . The retail is $495 but we are running a sale till oct 10th $400 .
heres how it works
1. you fill out an order form here http://www.tunetyme.net/orderform.doc
2. send in your order form with payment .
3. we send you a new PCM tuned already based on your order form [ We can tune for anything you want .]
4. you may or may not have to get a case learn done [ do it at a pontiac dealer ,usualy about $50 some times free ]
5. send in your OEM PCM .
6, If there is somthing else you'd want us to change we will do it on your OEM PCM and you will not need a case learn again .

rally 09-15-2006 03:47 PM

I hope your only basing numbers off the cavy and not the pcm also. I dont see this working very well. No Offense.

tonio5555 09-15-2006 04:02 PM

I'm going to hold off until I see some dyno charts. $495 for 12hp comes to about $41 per pony. A little rich for my blood.

rally 09-15-2006 09:54 PM

Yea, not to mention they tune it for you, rather wait for HPtuners so I can do my own tuning and put a turbo in it...

ludicristSS 09-15-2006 10:47 PM

Guys I hear you about the price I don't set the retail thats Westers . But I can tell you we have never over estimated our tunes. We went by the 2.2 Cavy because there are minor differences in the hard parts of the motor . If some one in Canada wants to go to the shop I'm sure Lyndon will hook you up . other wise the 2.2 crowd is asking and we are the only ones who can do this right now . Are you guys looking for a group buy? and say take another $75 off min of 10 ? . As for us tuning the car for you why not this is what we do I'm sure you could eventualy tune your car with enough time and trial and ERROR but we will do it for lees then HP cost's. Plus if you at anytime get rid of your car we will credit you your original purchase price towards another tune .

IonNinja 09-16-2006 03:02 AM

does this apply to the Ion as well?

also how exactly are you doing the tuning? a program similar to HP Tuners?

Would a stock dyno need to be sent in first, I'm a little weary of "off the shelf" tunes

I'm going to be running nitrous by the end of the month and could really benefit from having strong power both on and off the bottle.

IonNinja 09-17-2006 05:54 PM

?

.

sshaner 09-18-2006 02:02 PM

just need to reflash in IMO

roccityroller 09-18-2006 02:17 PM

that looks more like TCM tuning, you don't take into account mods etc?

srt-killer 09-18-2006 02:48 PM

I can voutch for ttp. I got my pcm tuned for my 2.0 and all i can say is wow. I had the intense stage 3 pcm before and this one is way better. The car runs great. They do tune to your mods, every tune is basically custom. You send them your mods and they will tune for it. S

D4u2s0t 09-18-2006 03:04 PM

everyone stop knocking this for christs sake... everyone bitches that there is no tuning, then it comes out, and everyone tells the guy he's full of it...

ludacrist, thank you for making this available... once you post up some before and afters on a cobalt, i'm sure people will take it a little more seriously...

Sure any info you can provide us with will make your tune better for your car .

Not sure I follow but if you have an auto we will adjust that as well .

roccityroller 09-19-2006 03:10 PM

no i just figured it looks more like tranny control module (tcm) tuning. I would think that if you were tuning the computer the order form would ask for engine mods etc...

ok great I will definitely be keeping this in mind...i rode in srt-killers car last night and that thing pulls pretty hard. i never got a before test drive but pulling that hard off the bottle on a nitrous tune has gotta be good for something...

hopefully by the time i'm ready for this i'll have a dyno sheet

so just to clarify...you CAN do this for the 2.2 Ion correct?

biohazard 09-24-2006 08:40 AM

can you eliminate 02 sensors doing this? for example my cel form my 2nd o2 sensor runing lean

ted5986 09-24-2006 09:17 AM

hey if you guys need a 2.2 guinea pig i will be glad to come over and you can dyno me for the sheets. <--and maybe give me a break on that 400 bucks;)

You have to look on the bottom of the form it asks for additional mods .

Thats telling me you have a lean condition if thats the case then we will not remove the code thats bad . We can richen the car up and correct the CE light the right way . Now if your getting a cat efficiency code [ To much flow ] We can turn that off .

ludicristSS 09-25-2006 08:39 AM

We are in the process of moving the shop to rt9 and rt 37 .

HackAbuse 09-25-2006 09:49 AM

So if I removed my cat, would you be able to tune it so that the secondary O2 sensor couldnt trigger a CEL?

now you know thats a big no-no in NY...you naughty boy:nono: :nono:

1SloBowtie 09-28-2006 06:31 PM

Any chance of seeing this on a 2.2 Cobalt + dyno'd? Or will a 2.2 owner from the board have to buy it, test it, and review it themselves?

SIMMONS 2.0 09-29-2006 10:46 AM

well i have a 2.2 w/ CAI and cat back plus im on the bottle...you guys can tune for all of this? if so please send me a PM or reply and let me know what you guys can do for my car and what possible gains i may recieve.... i am very interested in this and want to know more...thanks

Edit: i might be interested in being a tester if a discount applies lol

slowion2 09-29-2006 10:59 AM

it's nice to see this, but for the price and abilities it's not going to help me at all

I'd like to see some cars that have done this on a dyno though before and after. and more importantly, on a track.
