losing Gas Mileage.... Questionn

within the past month, it seems my mpg has done nothing but go down. wen i was takin the highway to work everyday i think i had the mpg up near like 28mpg,, but now its like at 23.9mpg, and idk if its maybe cuz of the way i drive or maybe MAF sensor i questioned. i have CAI. i do drive like crazy around the city, but would it really cause my gas mileage to drop and still keep goin down...

do you go off the computer gas mileage, or do you calculate it yourself?

you hit the reset button that is right behind the steering wheel. Just behind where your right hand rests on the steering wheel. I'm guess you are flooring it and losing a little. You also need to reset that bitch after you fill up to notice a difference.

go in your dic control next to the steering wheel on the dash and scroll through the specs till you see mpg, then hold in the button on the right that looks like a return key on a keyboard. same thing as resetting the trip mileage calculator

bolt ons will INCREASE your mileage as long as you drive the same. many people get worse mileage because they use the gas more after putting them on. but in the same exact driving situation, you will get better gas mileage with the bolt ons.

yea, try to reset it every now and then. and it's helpful for messing around with in different situations to see what gets what kind of milege. cruise on the highway, reset it. then reset it and floor the car. then drive normal and reset it. gives you a good idea of what does what, what helps, and what hurts.

though it's not 100% spot on perfect, i've found it to be close enough.

did you check your gap? ....that'll totally cut your mpg's if you missed that step.

It actually does reset the oil life, but you have to have the key in and turned on but not started, then go into dic and find oil life reset then hold both buttons in and it will say acknowledged

Actually it does reset oil, turn the car to run without turning it on. Then reset oil. Or press gas pedal 3 times while in run position.

I had the same problem with mine. I was down to averaging 26 on city/highway combined and I took off the whole air intake system, cleaned all of it, cleaned the throttle body, put in a new air filter even though the old one wasn't dirty, and boom I'm back up to 32 on combined.

I bet you messed up your maf sensor. They're pretty sensitive.

Replace that and I bet you'll be ok.
