It's more depressing people think lowering springs are a replacement for coil overs.

i don't think too many people think it's a replacement... but 200 > 12-1400... if i was single and didn't just pick up a mortgage i'd have coilovers though

ok...so back on topic lol

he didnt neccessarily say just that he wante it for sound only, he may have been stating that he knows what he wants in a car and wants to find out if he can and make it sound good at the same time...like i had to do.
i wanted an open free flowing exhaust that gave me the most performance...but i didnt want it sounding like ass at the same time

springs are kind of both appearance and suspension. They make the car handle better AND look better, so yes, both can be argued. Exhaust...not so much...i mean maybe if you get a really nice looking tip? lol

I can't believe you put a 3" exhaust on an N/A 2.2. It actually sounds nice though.

you don't consider springs an appearance mod as well as a performance mod?
please explain how they aren't

and to stay on topic, the magnaflow exhaust i witnessed on a friend of mines cobalt set off car alarms and still maintained a deep tone until about 5000 rpms. then it sounded like ****, but still worth it i guess if you want something loud

I have the ZZP midlength header with the 2.5" downpipe with highflow cat and a megan racing cat back and it is loud but it sounds very good and i can set off car alarms no problem. Just an example at night when i leave my girls house she can usually here me until i'm a little over a mile away lol

i think thats a very ignorant statement to make

its not like our 4cyl engines are high performance cars... except for a select few

but for us 2.2 and 2.4 guys, and exhaust is more appealing for the sound rather than the <5whp gains

springs also are a better appearance mod because i bet 9/10 people on here dont auto x their 2.2 or 2.4

just my 2 cents

you dont need to auto x your car to get the added benefit of the springs/ struts

if springs didn't do anything for handling, i wouldn't have gotten them. yea, it makes them look better. but many people just get them for looks and consider at an appearance mod. i guess i just consider it a performance mod.

why is it ignorant? just my opinion. i guess i think differently than majority of this site, probably because i'm a little older. but if an exhaust and springs did nothing for performance, they just wouldn't be on my car i guess. i don't auto x either. but it sure is nice to have those springs when i'm driving up the mountain.

I run open 3 inch downpipe from my turbo...literally open...no catback...just a downpipe hanging...I don't have a sound clip though but let me tell you, it's loud. I have stock motor/trans mounts...and it seems like I have the stiffest mounts ever. Everything rattles inside....I LOVE IT
