You might want to call ASAP and cancel that order. It won't work.

hmm dont all the 07s have the same computer? It might be possible, doubt it will be perfect though...

I would be looking though towards that new blower thats being advertised on the board... Looks cool...

the golden rule of cars is that you never listen to a dealership mechanic...

hmmm.... It will require abit more work then you or the GM tech might think, but I believe the 07 PCM's were changed and IIRC, you can tune them. If you can, then the tuning is possible, you will also need a intake manifold off a ss/sc or one simlar, might have to change some pulleys on your belt system, change your intake, upgrade your fuel injectors etc.....did they say how much it will cost??
IMO, I would go with either the procharger or a turbo.....
that is if the 07 2.2s can be tuned(I am not 100%, but pretty sure I read somewhere saying they will be tunable)

Exactly. There is no BIG difference. So buying the SS/SC from the start would have saved time, and possibly money, and headaches.

better suspension, bigger wheels, stereo, way better seats, heated seats in the 07, steering wheel controls, boost guage, supercharger, better pistons, better brakes, bodykit, what else am i missing , cmon man the difference between an ss/sc and a 2.2 ls is like the difference between a V-6 Mustang and a Mach 1

better rods , more aftermarket support, oil squirting on the pistons above a certain rpm , better transmission better clutch , shittie yet better axels, different lug patter assuring you its a different part,

theres no need to be all "you shoulda bought a ss/sc", thats just plain out dirty....
people buy the car for a reason, already discussed in the many other threads...
I have an ls, i had the opportunity to get an ss/sc but it didnt appeal to me at the time, and plus, now with my ls, i will be tuning it so that i can beat an ss regardless of what anyone says. it can be and will be done. even if have to put in another engine. right now im satisfied with my ls regardless if an ss can beat me, and even in the long run that this will cost me more money, but ill be able to make alot of people look like idiots because the judge the outside of the car.i'm probly going to invest more into my car then it origionally cost me.
"why the hell would you awnt to do that?"
because its something ill learn from and see if it was worth it, if it wasnt oh well, i still have a sweet car, and if i beat other cars, the more the merrier...
so just stop messing and help people when the ask questions, im pretty sure thats why were here, and if you havent noticed, its a 2.2 forum specific but the ss/sc decide to come in and rag.

have fun boys.

and gals.

I was simply asking that if he was going to supercharge his LS with the SS supercharger, why didn't he buy the S/C and eliminate the downtime, tear-down/rebuild, finger -crossing, and "maybe"s that come with rebulding and/or modding an engine. I'm not ragging, laughing, pointing fingers, or name calling.

maybe at the time he got his car he couldn't afford the ss/sc, or it wasn't practical... now he has some extra money to drop on the car, so what... so based on your answer, why mod ANY car?? why not just get a better car?

Lets break this down
Better Suspension: Got me there.
Bigger Wheels: Less Acceleration, but they do look better
Stereo: Plays MP3's and has 6 speakers and a crappy sub, whoopty ****
Way better seats: I like the seats in my LS they're quite comfy.
Heated seats: Don't need em when you have cloth seats.
Steering Wheel controls: overrated
Boost gauge: I know it goes something like, "Boost, it gets you laid." Tell me, when is the last time you got laid just because of your car?
Supercharged: Just one more thing to break
Better pistons: I would hope so if you had to push boost
Better brakes: More power to the wheels=more force to stop.
Bodykit: I'm sorry, but I LOVE the sleeper look. Bodykits just **** me off.
Better rods: Once again, I'd hope so if you had boost
More aftermarket support: This is true
Better transmission: really now? I'm hearing many a horror story about the transmissions having gears going out.
Better clutch: Once again many stories that suggest differently.
Better axles: I've not read of one LS YET that has snapped an axle, but I may have missed a thread on that so don't quote me.
Different lug pattern: Come on, it's one of THE rarest petterns out there. The 4x100 pattern is common to Civics and the like, thus giving us more wheel options.

Yeah. I already reported the first post just to make sure the mods keep an eye on it. This is going to be another slaughter fest.

Anytime I see that I'll tell people "Should have bought an STI" (300 hp and awd you know)

But Honestly I wouldn't even take the time to try putting the ss/sc supercharger on it, toooooo much time and money and all. Just cancel the order and save yourself that 1K

look at the people that take mirages and base lancers and frankenstein parts out of all the previous gen evos and make an unoffical evo for roughly the same cost

Weren't of 07' PCMs switched back to the same PCM used in the Cavalier? The dealership sells s/c's for the cavies. If so why cant they just tune it?

Is there some reason why the mechanics of it won't mount up or is the idea shot down right away because everyone reads 2.2L and immedietaly jumps to the conclusion it needs new tuning.

Correct me if I am wrong, but weren't the PCMs switched?

I figured with the whole "Should of Bought an SS", I would rather have the cheaper Payments and Cheaper Insurance. All those parts you listed can be fixed for well under the dealer cost.
