lsj/lnf internals
has anyone ever put the lsj or lnf pistons and rods in the 2.2? i know it would destroke it, but wouldnt that lead to safe higher revs? also, stock upgrade is less expensive than aftermarket. i plan on doing a mild turbo build on my 2.2 (because it has almost 120k miles on it) and im on a very strict budget. but basically, i could get around 350 whp with the factory internals setup, right?

lnf internals, no. Atleast not the pistons. DI engine.....

Technically the lnf stuff fits too, and the DI pistons dont affect much for non DI. Somebody even ran flat top pistons for a DI build and they said nothing really changed.
Zzp sells brand new ldk pistons/rods/rings for 250$. Go for those.

That sounds tempting, but I'm going for price efficient and around 350whp, call said and done. So if there's not much of a difference in price, I'll go with ldk stuff to be safe.
I believe the reason the DI piston are dished the way they are is for proper burn of fuel from the direct injection finer mist. .
I may be wrong. I'm not sure anyone has tried those pistons on an LSJ or 2.2 car.

Lol. Sorry man. I'm running off 3 hours of sleep, and I'm sick. My head is not all there at the moment. Since zzp is out of stock on the ldk rods and pistons, I think I'll get some stock lsj's I found on eBay for $180. Waiting for the turbo kit is going to be the hardest part. =\
the lsj stock bottom end has handled 500hp
by changing the rod length you do not destroke an engine
the lsj rods are not a true forged rod they are cast then hit with a rod press a few times then the cap broken off
lsj rod is a lot shorter then the 2.2 so if you used a lsj rod and piston you will lower the compression roughly half a point or a little more a few people have done the lsj rod piston combo swap into a 2.2 years ago
