might be lemoning mine soon
well, i've brought my car in 2 times already for shifter/syncro wear and now less than a month after it got fixed for the second time, 2nd gear is worn. idk, i don't slam my gears, and also, i'm not very rough on the car seeing as it was winter. and plus after the first time i babied it and it still happens. idk. i talked to one of the dealership guys at a driver improvement program (i guess if u clear an intersection making a turn during a yellow its running a red light?) but anyways he said that if the car is brought in 3 time for the same problem u can lemon law it. the guy knew me by name without really knowing me because he worked on my car. lol. but he told me alot of 2.2's had been having the same problems. idk. ne one else having the same problems?
i have a 2.2 w/ brake issues, i'm taking it in for the FOURTH time now which is b.s. the first 2 times they fixed it the 3rd time (yesterday) they didnt find anything wrong. so im taking it to another stealyershit today. my car is such a lemon
note: the second and third times were w/ in 5 days of each other

I haven't experienced any problems so far and I have an '05. I did have to get the front rotors turned because they were warping. I've seen other members with a similar problem. As far as I know it's because the quality of some of the model's front rotors were crap. I'd try and lemon the car cus I've learned from past experiences that very few mechanics seem to fix transmissions properly. Even a $1,400 rebuild can get you a trip back home with AAA. Goodluck tho
Haven't had really any problems w/ mine. I however am alittle upset that sometimes going 2nd it makes a noise, cannot really explain it but its like a clucking noise, does it all the time going to 4th. The other day I put it in reverse when I was parking(says to do that in manual) and I shut the car off and when I left out on the clutch the car jerked like it would if it was running and you gave it no gas and let out on the clutch. I notice a couple of times now when going to 3rd it does this jerk like I shifted to 1st from like 3rd, kinda pissed me off. Not sure if these are signs of problems or break in things, its an '07 coupe w/ 3800 miles, got it like 6 months ago.
hey if u lemon law the car, how much money do u get or credit towards getting another car?
and ya ive had mine taken in once already. they fixed it i'll let u know if it does it again where i take it in.

ummmm, honestly, i'm not sure how much credit they give u. i'm hoping (since id just get another balt) they'd set me up with the same exact plan i started a year ago. but thats wishful thinking...lol.
mine is now a lemon due to the fact that it would start wen it felt like it leaving me sit after they told me it was fixed 4 times....
im getting 2500$ back from GM thru 1800lemonlaw, AND my dealership lied to GM and only told them about the cosmetic damages...
Note: Dont go to the dealership after filing a lemon law, they hate you

yes, it all 4 times occurred within a year period. To claim lemon law it has to happen 3 times within a year. However the dealership gets one extra shot at fixing the problem so its really 4 times within a year. It is very unlikely that something will go wrong 4 times within a year and that is why its so hard to actually claim this law. My fiance has a sunfire and there is a problem with it every month and stuff seems to break in a cycle but its never within a 1 year period so we can never claim the stupid thing. The car is almost paid off now and its was taken in 50 times within the first year of her owning the stupid thing

right, but its 12 months or 12000 miles w/e comes first (since you owned the car)
basically anybody will have issues with rotor warp, as almost every make out there has that issue. you have to really baby the brakes to prevent this. my mom warped her rotors on her 2.4l ion in 400 miles!!!!! she bought it new. thats really not something that i think can make a car a lemon. brake warpage is really on the driver, of course brake rotors are made of crap material now and are too thin.
but the only problem im having is a chirping noise coming from the brake or wheel bearing. its been doing that since new and i figured maybe the brakes needed worn in. but man going over bumps sounds like caged bearings just rattling around.

Mines currenly at the dealer cause 2nd keeps poping out when you disengage the clutch. They called trying to say the shift cables were worn out due to my TWM short shifter wanting to replace the cables and shifter assembly for $600 out of my pocket. The f23's are notories for breaking shift forks since the tips are nylon. I told them i've had the shifter for over 15k and its never had a problem. He' said he would talk to the tech and i've yet to receive a call back. Hopefully they are pulling to tranny to take a look at it. And if it was a shift cable worn wouldn't 4th and reverse be out as well??
