which one do you want? You have a DIS now stock. The MSD replaces that system and you can tune it.

The sync system replaces your stock DIS system with a distributor system. I'd say stick with the DIS unless you plan on wiring up a megasquirt or something.

Then again I would do some reading on both and how they work and how to tune them before you do anything.

it's about the same to tune either way. The only difference is the distributor system actually uses contact points to distribute spark whereas the DIS uses an ignition module. In our case our stock ignition module is pretty much just a "dummy" and the actual ignition patterns are saved in the pcm.

Think of a distributor system as OBDI and DIS as OBDII.

Unless you're planning on going with a full standalone ecm(like megasquirt) that requires you to change your ignition there's really no point in making the swap though. The MSD systems won't perform any better than your stock ign system. Certain packages will allow you to advance or retard timing or set a stage rev limiter, but there are plenty of easier methods of doing this without changing out your entire ignition system.

If you really feel you need to do this then go with the DIS system. It would be a ton of work and fabrication to run a distributor on our engines.
