is it a 2.2, 2.4, or 2.0.... Pretty much every brand makes a cold air for these cars, K&N, Injen, if you have the 2.2 or 2.4 GM has a cold air for it! As far as the muffler, are you wanting cat back or just a muffler, if it's just a muffler DC has one that is 2.25" inlet and it's pretty quiet, and magnaflow has just about anything you could wan!

the answer to both your questions is "No". as far as sound, there's sound clips floating aroudn somewhere, but "Sounds good" is a relative term and everyone likes something different

the high pitch "honda whine" comes from revving WAY higher than our cars can... most of the exhausts for our car are somewhat deep...

What I suggest is looking into a good cat-back more so than a muffler. your looking at anywhere from 50 to 100+ dollars for a muffler plus install where as you can get a good cat-back for 200 more or so. I suggest going with the GM-Touring or GM-Performance cat-backs. It will get you the "sound" your looking for and GM-Performance dynoed 7 WHP on an LS on Redline TV.

As far as reprogramming/recalibrating your MAF thats not needed. When you install your cold air you disconnect the battery, this resets your pcm and allows it to "re-learn" the air intake patterns. As far as CAI's I suggest going with INJEN as its the only cold air intake/short ram intake combo

From every post I've seen the GM touring catback is bout as good as it gets. I plan on getting the extrude hone manifold, cobalt addiction downpipe, and GM touring cat back.

i highly suggest the injen, it is the best buy for the buck, IMO. as far as exhaust, i did a custom 2 1/4" cat-back w/ an eBay muffler. it sounds great, alot of people tell me that it sounds very good and not all ricey sounding. i spent a total of like 200-250 bucks on my exhaust and i definately felt a very noticable difference in power.

You should have disconnected it so it puts your pcm into RELEARN mode. It even says it in the instructions.

And I noticed you asked about injectors, if your just going for a cai/muffler/catback whatever, or for the most part just doing bolt ons you will never have to upgrade your injectors. The only time you'll look to upgrade injectors is after having Forced Induction added. (turbo/supercharger)

Why would she pay $425 for the GM Per Ex when she can get the same thing at CA for $380? http://www.cobalt-addiction.com/performance.htm im sure there are other sites that are cheaper than that.

Girlfriend u really have to shop around, especially check out the Market Place here on the site, there are usually some pretty good deals on new/ lightly used stuff. Just watch who u buy it from and how u pay(PAYPAL). I believe there is a guy selling a couple of brand new CAI made by GM for $200 shipped, I think its byker or something is his name. I purchased a AEM CAI off him for $150 shipped, $100 less than eBay and other sites.

I personally have a Magnaflow High Flow Universal muffler with the stock piping, sounds great when u rev it up, no high whinning just a nice deep tone and when u down shift u get a nice growl to it. I'll see about posting a sound clip....

later

Actually the one from CA is listed at a higher price because remember the shipping is an extra $59.99 on top of the $379.99 for the exhaust for a grand total of $439.98 plus tax. Not to mention that the CA exhaust as far as I can tell doesnt state touring or performance, very important in my opinion.

If all you are looking for is the muffler you can email magnaflow and ask them what muffler they use on the cobalt catback. magnaflow mufflers usually run about $100
