My shift has been shortened! :D

Got the TWM Performance Short Shifter for my pursuit! Installation was pretty easy, took 3 hours, most of that time was trying to feed the damned zip tie through the boot, but we got it!

Anyways, here are the pics of the old, the install and the new! Enjoy!

First!

Second!

Neutral!

The hotness!

The Fun!

No shifter!

The Excitement builds!

Almost there!

First!

Second!

Neutral!

And the finished product, don't mind the dirty interior, tommorow calls for a detailing!

That's all folks!

Do you know what percentage the throw is decreased by vertically and horizontally? i know it says 38% or something on the site, but is that for both vert and horz?

Shifting feels alot more solid.

To me it feels like the shift from 1 to 2 now was like 1 to neutral before.

Haven't really tested it too much in shifting quicker, cause Canadian weather sucks and traction dissappears in snow...:P

I think its 38% decrease in throw and 2 inches shorter.

really nice looking but I would miss the stock shift knob...I really like mine

Are they reusable or do you have to switch to the TWM?

Didn't even bother to look/try.

Loved the look of my new one, so, i screwed it on tightened it up and let er rip.

I did break the tabs that loosely held the stock on one when i pulled it off, but i suppose if you were careful and got it off without doing that you could rig it so you could use the stock one...

Cool man!! I have a LS sedan with the 5 spd and I was looking at getting the TWM shifter too. So the install was pretty easy and how did you get the stock shifter off?? Do you find the the aluminum shifter cold in the winter?? I am from TO so I have the same winter temps.

Small, somewhat off-on topic... does the B&M shifter just fit the SS or does it also fit the base Cobalts? probably been answered before 100 times, but I may have missed and am too tired/befuddled with life to use the SEARCH function.

Hey Scott,

I think the TWM is for the base Cobalts and B&M makes one for the SS. The B&M one has the reverse shift lock like the original shifter one your SS. Hope that helps.

Cheers!!

It gets pretty cold actually, almost so that you don't wanna touch it without gloves. But I use gloves so it doesn't matter. It heats up pretty quickly!

One of my friends has an aluminum shift knob and he actually puts his gloves over the knob while the car is parked, then it might be a lil cold but it's not freezing whne he gets back in the car.
