Need help with what size breather

okay guys so i ordered a K&N intake over a month ago from cobalt addiction and turns out K&n themselves didn't have any. now i get a call today from CA telling me that he's very sorry to tell me that K&N are being little bitches and did not fulfill their promise they made to their vendors of shipping the intakes for the 2.2 out by last week. so he calls me and offers to give me the injen cai/sri for the same amount of money cause i have been waiting for over a month without getting my product. naturally i took the offer.

but now the problem is the SAI, i know you can just throw a breather on the SAI line. what i want to know is what size breather do i need to get to clamp onto the SAI line. by me they have ones that are like 3/8 - 1/2 inch inlets. i don't think that's big enough. would i need to get a hose mender type thing and just throw two clamps on it and call it a night?

and would i just be able to throw the breather on my crankcase vent and use the crankcase vent hole on the intake for my SAI? does anyone know if thats possible or would work.

the crankcase vent is fine, the injen has a line for that, dont breather it, just put a breather on the SAI hose, thats it

oh no that's what i was saying. cause i've seen many people put a breather on the crankcase and use that line off the intake for the SAI. but i was thinking about doing that. just plugging in a breather and hooking it somewhere. do you know if it would be a better idea to disconnect the SAI at the joint in it and put a breather there or just plug it into the top part.

blackbolt, you actually came out ahead with your situation. Injen, to me, is a much better intake. its not secluded to just a short ram like the k&n. the full CAI is excellent.

you can just tie a piece of cloth or something around it. that line only pulls air from a cold start, once the car is up and running it doesn't do anything. twisty tie and a piece of cloth will do just fine.

Old ass bump, but I have the same question as his last post.

Can I take the whole tube off and just put it a breather right at the source? Also, what size breather filter would fit in there snug?
