I'm a noob at modding 4-cylinders... I stepped into the market after 3 grand prix's in a row, but I would like to know of the best starter mods to put on a cobalt. If you could please let me know the best brand and prices for the parts as well that would be much appreciated. I want to start with headers, dual no-cat back (will that be too loud?), bigger fuel injectors (how big should they be?) and air intake. Thanks for any input.

www.cobalt-addiction.com has headers and catbacks, there are no dual catback systems for our cars..you'd have to have one custom made. they have downpipes with cats/without cats also(the part between the header and the catback). they also have some intakes. i say try to go for the gmpp intake, youc an feel it and hear it, a little overpriced but its gm so its covered under warranty. from what i hear, you dont need new fuel injectors unless you go f/i or major n/a because all you'd be doing is dumping fuel into the engine that it doesnt need.

2nd... if you wanna make 220whp+ you're gonna have to change out your stock internals anyway because your engine is nowhere near as strong as the LSJ..... (so get your head out of the clouds)

and you single handedly deffeted your argument of "Logic" when you said you were doing things for "looks not power"

also... i would LOVE to see your header glow red

and thanks, NJHK and RallyYellow06

P.S. - You don't have to curse and be immature to get your point across

Know what your talking about before you say anything. The 2.2's rods are proven to hold until 270. Many j-body guys are running 220+ with turbo kits and stock internals. Granted over time they will fail earlier then aftermarket but they will hold up.

Right off hahns website,

Turbocharging has long been recognized as the most efficient method of increasing power while maintaining excellent engine life and daily drivability. The cost, when expressed in HP per dollar, is unmatched by any other method of increasing power. For instance, consider that our Stage II system for Talon/Eclipse provides up to a 130 HP gain for approximately $3000. This performance gain equals about $22 per HP. Now consider an exhaust, header and intake: a gain of about 20HP for $1000, or about $50 per HP, more than twice the cost per HP compared to turbocharging!
