maybe the ghost in the trunk got bored and moved to shotgun?? or there's a loose bolt that's rolling around under the carpet? next time you hear it i would try to really pinpoint the location, stop imediately, and feel around the vacinity where you heard it

that is a real nightmare... tryin to locate something flopping about. had that issue on a maxima I sold... turned out to be, of all things, a soda cap stuck in the dash someplace. I've given it up on my BMW... I just chalk it to being old and foreign.

Well I've noticed my auto tranny is rather raspy when I accelerate hard or am cruising at highway speeds. I've pretty much come to accept this as normal.

If you're 5 spd then I have no clue.

Hey, do you have your A/C on when it does it?

Cuz mine does it and I haven't figured it out either...volume on the radio helps out with that

The A/C question is legit. The evaporator is in the dash on the passenger side, and if any debris for some reason got into your freon, it would be rattling around inside that heat exchanger.

I agree, don't take you car apart. There may be some debris in the air duct that runs through your heater core and evaporator (which is more likely then what I said before about something being INSIDE the evaporator). Go turn on just the fan, not the A/C. Do it without the engine on for less noise. See if that duplicates it. If so, there ya go.

Every forum is like that, domestics hate imports, imports hate domestics....blah blah blah. Just ruins the forums in my opinion, most of us come to forums for the information and to talk about....CARS.
