OBX header
well since i have read a few threads on this header, and people asking about it, and how OBX doesnt list it on their site and what not, i thought i wuld make a thread on it to infrom people, i mean its a nice header for the price, and it looks nice compared to the pacesetter, or the ceramic one, cuz i know im a fan of the classic bronze look stainless steel headers get
OBX header includes:
gasket(to go between the head and header)
2.25" collector
2 bolts with nuts and spring thingy
and you get the header(duh)
i know some people like to talk **** about OBX, i personally havent heard of them b4, than again i wasnt active on forums until i got my cobalt, but the header looks nice when it comes in, doesnt look cheap at all, i took some pics of it when it came in and after i installed it, the install is the same as it would be for the pacesetter, except i read on the pacesetter install that you cut the dp 1/2 down to the cat, i had to cut right at the top of the cat to get it to work, i personally installed this header on my car, so i know, what you have to do to make it work, you need to cut the dp right at the stock welds for the cat, than you can weld the collector to there, but makes sure that the flange is on b4 u weld, or you will have to cut and re weld, the flange must be inside the weld, the flange itself doesnt get welded, it is able to free spin inbetween the collector and the cat, so you can line it up right with the header, once its all welded up, just put it all back together, its real simple, i can feel and hear the diffence it makes, i have gotten alot of compliments on the header, alot of my friends like it, alot of random people say it looks nice, i know ttr said they were cheap and what not, but so far they seem nice, i mean im not saying arron was BSing of anything, cuz we all know he's a badass vendor(who needs to hurry up with that dam sway bar ) but they are nice, here's the pics:
compared to the stock its a hell of alot nicer
once they get warmed up they come out to that sexy ass bronze look we all know and love

you can use that dp for the obx aswell, im actually going to buy this this friday, i would prefer this dp to the stock restrictive one :d

well, if exhaust depot gets the cat one they at working on for sale soon, i would look into that setup. until then i think im going to hold off and keep my savings labeled ZZP HEADER AND DP FUND.

i will be hitting the dyno after i get the parts, so will have a update on the power i make, and later in april i should have a update on my times at the track

ok cool.
I know i can beat a 2.4 by 2-3 cars. Thats auto 2.4.
What you think is better tis header or say the gm or zzp exhaust manifold?

2-3 cars? i call bs on that. the 2.4 and 2.2 are pretty much even w/ a moded 2.2L...the 2.4 isn't much faster but 2-3 lengths is complete bull

idk, from a roll, my 2.2 took a 2.4 auto pretty good, idk if it was 3 lenghts, but it was a win 4 me, but auto SS/NA's arent so quick from rolls, from a stop they will straight rape a 2.2, right now i run=with a auto SS/NA, and to answer the other guy i havent seen the zzp stuff, but i like my setup now+ a header is always better than a exhaust manifold better flow, but a header 4 us mean a custom dp

Im not stock. and it was from a 80km roll and i was in third. Sorry but a modded 2.2 from a 80 roll against a auto 2.4, will kill the 2.4. And i believe it was by three cars, he was way back in my mirror.
I raced a 200hp taurus on the highway from a 100km roll and pulled 1.5 cars. From a dig i pulled like 2 cars. He was also an auto, but weighs more aswell.

YAH custom dp for sure. My whole exhaust is cutom, They bent the pipe and made my DP and flang and ****. High flow cat.

im not the one sayini won by 2-3, i beat a 2.4, he's on here, his nameis dragonfire1234, but i beat hom from a roll, i am a 5spd, he is an auto, but i know it wasnt by no 2-3, maybe 1.5-2, and i raced him in san antonio, not austin, i dont know about this other guy sayign 2-3, but i beat that 2.4 when i only had a intake and exhaust as a mod, i can imagine a better win if you upgrade full exhaust tran mounts...but idk, every car is diffrent and every race is diffrent, plus i dont really count races that werent won at the track, cuz thats when you know you reeally won, and you have proof in the from of a slip

I did take him from a dig, i redlined first and shot so far ahead, in second i waited for him, lol.Unless he never gunned it, but this was after the roll. and we went from like 80km-170km. So i had enough time to pull that many cars.
roll race's FTL??? Most vids i see are from rolls. It all depends on the car, some cars will loose in a roll but then win from a dig. You are right about that.
heres some numbers for stock vs. stock
2.4L 171 hp auto @ 20% Loss = aprox 136.8 whp
2.2L 145 hp 5 spd @ 11% Loss = aprrox 129.5 whp
bigger loss with an auto tranny. and anyone on here with a modded 2.2 from 80km in third and you give it the thing goes.

Werd, Real Races are not decided from a roll.
