OEM SS Exhaust on L61 Coupe

Well, I did a bit of searching before posting so pardon if this has been asked before - will an OEM SS/SC or SS/TC exhaust fit directly onto a L61? As in, will it directly bolt in somehow? And if I did miss the write up on this, can someone point me in the correct direction?

Oh, and while we're on the subject, is there any difference between the exhaust on a TC and an SC? And which is better, in your opinion? Is one better than the other?

Thanks in advance!!

No it won't because the SS/TC exhaust uses a 3 bolt flange vs the 2 bolt flange used on every other cobalt. It wouldn't be that much work to switch the flange though.

Better is relative, I believe the SS/TC exhaust flows better but it's also made for a turbo car and I've heard it sounds crap when on a non turbo car.

If you want to a full ss/sc exhaust will bolt up with zero issues. The ss/tc as stated has a 3 bolt flang and the sc has a 2 bolt like your car.

Short answer to your question. All the exhaust parts from the SS/SC will be a direct swap to your 2.2.... the DP is different and the catback where it bolts to the DP is 3 bolts, not 2 like your 2.2, the 2.4, and the SS/SC.

Both will fit.

The SS/TC will need a 2 bolt flange welded on, but thats not hard to do....

Okay, thanks for the info fellas. If I can find an SS/SC exhaust for cheap I'll jump on it... since I can't seem to find many people that have done this swap. If I can't find one under $270, I'll go for the Borla in the link UltraSilverSS shared... thanks!

I ran a full LSJ / SS/SC exhaust - header, dp, catback on my car for awhile, many years back. Wasnt the best, but was a good upgrade from the stock L61
