Are you doing this poll to figure out what you want to do?

no, i'm most likely going turbo, and with the garrett alpha kit ( if it ever comes out ), just trying to look at what other people would go with, simple human curiosity

by the way NJHK don't be afraid to cast your vote !!!

Well I won't actually vote because I don't own a 2.2 or a Cobalt.

If I could do my Turbo setup over again on my sunfire, I'd still do a Custom Turbo setup. I personally like having control over what I want for my car and just not some pre-made setup. I have enough knowledge about turbo setups to know what a proper setup includes and I typically know who to go to to help install it. I personally don't know how to weld, so that's one of the reasons why I'd need help.

But if someone doesn't have the means or the knowledge to do a custom turbo setup, they should defenitley go custom.

Can you explain how it is "harsher"...I'm just curious to hear where you got this from.

its just how my personal feelings on it as far as spooling up and boosting goes with a supercharger its always there the flow is constant.. witch is the down side of the supercharger... its less efficient then the turbo where the turbo is there when u want it if that makes any sense?

Ok, no offense but your personal feelings and fact are totally seperate.

What you just wrote had nothing to do with how harsh it is on a motor or how it effects a engine.

The response of a turbocharger has to deal with matching of a turbocharger to a engine. The "efficiency" of spool timing has more to deal with the actual type/size/trim of the turbocharger matching against the specific engine it's on. I could show you a turbocharger the size of my hand that will be at 10 PSI of boost pressure faster than a M62 could (or the same).

I think there is more you need to research on before coming to conclusions like this.

wait i want turbo info from NJHK. i personally know a bit about turbos but im not genious. i definetely do not know how to do the welding but have done the install on a 92 civic, custom setup.

i will choose Garrett because I believe the GT28RS is a great turbo to use for almost any application.

but can i be added to the "Inform Noobs About Turbos" list?

Starting here:

I would do sc for mine because its needs to be CARB certified and I'd rather have instant power for acceleration over speed.

I sorta like the sound as well...

Heard it's good but a bit outdated. The book I have is from 2002 or 2004. I think that one is from 96.

nitrous FTW. turbo and superchargers have high power capabilities, but nothing gets you the most power for the dollar as laughing gas

I picked my power adder already

because it was cheap

if you've got the money, go turbo - no question

it depends....what will you be using the car for? 99% street with a track visit every few months? Track visits all the time, driving on the street rarely? this will change which way you should go. no power adder is better in all situations.

id go nitrous. reason being is that if i wanted a turbo cobalt id get a awsome project car outof it. i have loved the cobalt and wanted a good fast car thats for fun.

daily driver cobalt = nitrous for me best bang for buck and i dont have a lot of modding

project cobalt = gmpp racing ecotec stand alone with all the goodies. basically a drag car. thats what i like. drag cobalt ftw lol

its my goal for the next 5 years. to be able to afford this. but if not i can wait longer lol
