Here's my car at the speed shop with the power train out. Should be back together in about a week.

more hp can be harnessed from the motor without F/I. on top of that if his car doesn't have F/I now and he goes with a turbo his car will be pretty damn quick. Easily eating Neon's for lunch and mustangs for dinner @10PSI. Quick turn of the dial on the turbo for more boost and that thing will be a C5 Corvette eater for sure

i just dont understand why you would buy a brand new car and go straight into the shop for weeks, i guess if you have other cars or something, but then why a cobalt instead of a camaro or something

Oh Wikky, your just jealous! You know your gonna want to drive it when I'm done. Speaking of which, when are we supposed to hang out? I gotta take a look at those headlights.

Anyway, in all seriousness, there are several reasons why I'm doing it. You might think some of my reasons are silly or expensive, but the bottom line is I WANT to do it. I'm having a lot of FUN doing it. And for the first time in my adult life, I have the BANKROLL to afford it!

I've been getting a lot of support on this project. Shops and vendors are all very excited to help, provide tips, and do some discounting. Later in life I would love to get a 67 Camaro SS with the folding front headlights and completely rebuild it. But I'd be ignorant to start with that as my first. The Cobalt is perfect because if I screw something up, parts and service are cheap and easy to get.

And, uh, quite frankly, I don't like Fords.

Sounds to me like WIkky is just mad!

There could be many reason or circumstances why he is doing it this way.
when i first got my CObalt SS wernt out where is was + i couldnt afford it.

So i got my LS fuly loaded and decided i was going to do the needed adjustments to upgrade it to BETTER then an SS.

i have a full catback exhaust and working on my body kit and rims. just deciding which one to get, special ordered the SS wing.

looking into turbo's also waiting for the 2.2 SC.

see so there could be many reason so winky, dont hate.

you make up the differancce between the price of the cars

i bought my ls coupe for 16,800

the ss is 21,000

thats 4200 for after market parts

if you put 4200 worth of aftermarket parts into the engine you should be as fast or faster a than a stock ss but you still pay insuraunce for a stock ls
