Ok so I found a cheaper and better place to buy my AEM intake today, but yesterday I ordered one at another shop. The other shop is Auto Sound/Security, they had me pay a 100 dollar layaway fee untill they get the intake and then want me to pay the rest after its here. Well I found someplace that will charge half that and went to get my layaway money back, but they were like oh well all sales are final no refunds blah blah... well thats great cuz the sale ISN'T final, the item hasn't even shipped yet, their also trying to BS me with restocking fees, and paying for shipping there and back. I need some legal advice on whether or not I can just cancel that charge. I used a debit card. I believe I'm entitled to my money until the item arrives and I walk out the door with it. I know the item hasn't shipped yet cuz they wouldn't give me a confirmation number when I went up there in person.

 

hmm...just depends...if it is a privately owned shop (not a big retailer) and they gave you the no refund stuff on the receipt; then you may be screwed....why not just use the $100 on something else in their store?

 

Cuz they have been stonewalling me and I just found out yesterday they have a REALLY bad rep for nickle and diming

 

go to your bank and cancel the transaction.. i think it usualy takes a couple days for it to go through anyways. If it already went through and your debt card has a visa or mastercard symbol on it make a claim that they didn't tell you about some part of the transaction costing for re-stocking and all that stuff.
