you should ALWAYS gap them to a standard set hieght...and NEVER trust that they are "pregapped" as they bounce around in shipping and such and you cant be sure. Better safe then sorry...


for gapping..preferably you would use a spark plug gapping tool lol. If you are VERY careful you can use needlenose pliers..but I wouldnt necc suggest it.

Most people are going to damage the electrode while checking the gap on these newer plugs. Those of us who know the different technique between gapping the thing wire plugs vs standard copper plugs can avoid it. And in theory the protectors on the plugs should prevent them from getting the gap changed during shipping.

when the plug specifically says not to gap...i dont gap them

plus iridiums have the fine electrode so no i dont do it

in theory...but ive been through plenty of plugs, and have yet to get a set of 4 that are all even close to correct. I find one here and there....but not enough at all to have ANY faith in the little protector lol

Damn mine are always within .002 of the factory spec and then I have to gap them down.
