Question for the Smart.

I am going to be getting a large check which my wife is allowing me to spend 1500 on my car. Here is where the problem lies. Do I get an Intake, Header, and Cat Back? Or do I get the FE5 suspension kit and sway bars?

Final purpose is a Supercharger in this car. That is of course if they ever give us a direct tune. So I know the Intake would eventually be null, but it could be awhile till I get that.

Any help would be appreciated.

It's all whether you want power & sound, or able to handle like a champ...

I would go the power route, becaues that is me...

why would you buy an intake when you are just going to have to run a new one when you go SC?

Because I have no clue how long it will be. Might not ever put one in. Just said that is the goal.

Most of my money goes into savings so I can live my ultimate dream of retiring extremely wealthy at 55. So I don't have a ton of money I can throw around.

question for the smart? save it and spend it on something that appreciates, and dont burn it to flames and waste it on your car. i think thats the 'smart' answer. Especially since you drive a damn 2.2.

When will HATERS like you get the point? HP and Torque are meaningless. It is ALL dependant on the driver. I have beat a Lotus on a full track in this car. You know how? Because some people are either too scared or just don't know what they are doing.

So give me a break with your negativity about the 2.2. Sad thing is I would probably mow you down too.

with some patience and searching you can get all of that for 1500.

even brand new 250 intake, 250 header, 450 catback, sway bars 300.... thats only 1300.

I would say look for people selling parts, pick up whatever intake you get the best price on, someones stock lsj header for $80, someone is selling a magnaflow exhaust right now for 250. the front sway bar is an uber pain in the ass but if you can get a good deal on a whole set go for it, if not get the progress rear for 175 and a dc or mrz strut. you should still have enough left over for springs as well.

Awesome, thanks for all that.

I know I will get flamed for this but I am trying to keep it completely GM products. I know I know, I can get better power/price from other companies, but it is what I am looking for. Of course I will be going with a few other companies but as few as possible.

Thanks for all the quick replies. I think I will be going I/H/E for the minimal power gains, lol.

Maybe for Christmas I will get the suspension package.

You're welcome, I am doing the same thing. minus the suspension parts.

GMPP Intake - 150
LSJ DP - 75
LSJ Exhaust Manifold - 60
GMPP Exhaust - 400 (New from CED with all new seals and bolts for mani and DP)
Suspension Techniques Sway Bars (Front and Rear) - 175
MRZ Strut Bar - 135
Eibach Pro-Kit - 225

All of my parts were either brand new or had less 1000 miles on them (intake, dp, mani)

Thats under 1300, so as long as you take your time and have some patience, you will get some good deals

Im trying to use as many GM parts as i can also. Heres what im doing: I got a slightly used GMPP intake for $200 shipped, Used GMPP performance catback for $265 shipped, New Poly trans bushing for $40 shipped. And im going to get the extrude honed exhaust manifold and i think thats like $275 new, so im only spending like $780 and it should give nice gains over stock. Then im getting SS/SC springs and you can get them here for like $75, then a DC strut bar for $120 and some sway bars. So ill be spending around $1500 and doing both.
