Smile Sittin on a G-note

So i got roughly a grand saved up, Im thinking im gonna get the 2.2 corsa touring, a highflow cat and a weapon r intake, just to start things off. Where should i go to get the hookup, i know i can get a heck of a deal on ebay, but would rather support a vendor if they can compete with some of the prices. Any suggestions?

i'd go with an injen intake, someone here said that the weapon r ended up ******* up their hood due to fitment issues

check out:

also if you are buying name brand stuff and not "mod chips", ebay can be useful too, just watch out for shipping costs.

turbo tech and cobalt addiction are supporting vendors on this site.

Injen's offering replacement pipes that fit much better. Here's some more info:

Injen Intakes don't have any big problems with the 2.2/2.4 as far as I know.

I wouldn't bother with the Corsa exhaust on the 2.2 unless you're planning to go F/I somewhere down the road.

get a local muffler shop to fab you up a 2.5" system for $300 or so... make sure you get it welded... spending $700 on a new exhaust is rediculous.

So...

Injen CAI... $215

Pacecesetter Armor Coat Header $220

Custom 2.5" Exhaust $300

That'll put you at around $750 or so once you figure in shipping.

Leaving you $250 to put into a set of lowering springs... or the DC Sports strut bar and some blue headlight bulbs... or whatever else you can think of...

have fun with it!

I agree about the Corsa system...$700! If you've got the pockets get it but I personally would go for something cheaper in price.

Just make sure the ehxaust shop you go to can do mandrel bends if you're going custom.

As far as fitment issues, I believe that was only with the 2.4. No one with a 2.2 has reported fitment issues to my knowledge.

I've ordered my Injen intake and Pacesetter header both from Turbo Tech Racing with no problems.

You should trade the car in and put that grand down on a 2.0SS and be much happier. It's just THAT simple.

i thought only the 2.0 injen intake had fitment problems

why corsa only for forced induction? i totally dont agree with that, its a quality cat back. if i was going forced induction i would up the size to atleast 2.5"
corsa with any intake gives the car a good kick.

if ur going custom, should you get a resonator (what does that do) and whats the best muffler to give a good low touring sound, but not too loud (i like stock volume, just not tone)

I have the Weapon R and it fit fine and I've had it for a few months now with no problems at all.
