First off, no such things as wires on a cobalt. It's got individual coils. The plugs he should keep stock for now but once he is supercharged he will want ngk 6509's (iridium) or ngk 3672's (copper). Some people have luck with one, some people have better luck with the other.

since we are on the topic of spark plugs, how do people feel about the e3 dimound fire plugs? do they fire too hot? they list them for the eco 2.4, would they be just fine in a 2.2?

E3s screw with the coils BAD.

NGK 6509 is what you want for boost. Otherwise stock plug for N/A

Some of the NGK's can be a little pricey. Like over $30 for four plugs is expensive for what it is.

My stock NGK ILTR5D plugs are $7.40/ea ($4.71/ea if purchased in packs of 8 branded ACDelco). You don't want to know how much the 1 step colder ones are.

Maybe yours are cheap, but when I change my plugs every 10-12k it's not cheap anymore.
