$300 is a tiny bit high. Expect to pay at least $50 per spring at a mechanic...and thats probably the cheapest you will find. $250 is the price I was quoted when I did mine a couple years back.

Your best option is to buy the few tools needed and take a day and do them yourself...it will likely take you a while the first time, but they are very easy once you know what you're doing...I recently swapped all my struts and shocks with fe5's and did the whole job in under an hour..

most auto parts store rent out Spring compressors. Then look up the how to and go nuts.

To be honest, it's probably one of the easier mods to do with a buddy's help.

I put them in myself. My friend dad has his own autoshop. It took me about 4 hours. I paid $245 shipped for my Sportlines at Turbo Tech Racing + $70 for a 4 wheel alignment with a camber kit at my dealer. I LOVE my springs

PS: The same dealer gave me a $350 estimate for the install and alignment. So I did it myself. Its not very hard........I promise.

What springs are you getting?

too bad your not in houston bc my gm of houston club i installed mostly everyones springs my self, all you need is the spring compresser from like advance and 13 mm, 19mm, 21mm, hammer, and jack and jack stands. it just takes like 30 - 45 minutes with me and my brother. the back is easy like pie and the front is easy too just takes time to be careful with all things. i only charge food to pay for the install lol

Rear are easy as hell 10-20 min. Now for the front, if you dont want to do them, I recommend taking out the strut assembly and then take it to a shop, thats what i did and only got charged $50 for swapping the springs. After taking out the frt wheels, its only six bolts to remove the strut assembly.

at my local tuner shop i got quoted $200 for springs and struts...so $300 is def. too much for just springs...especially since the Koni's aren't a simple bolt on install...there's cutting

I've changed mine like 4 times, get a lil faster each time. should only take 45 minutes - 1 hour your first time... Might as well buy the compressors ($40 autozone)

Back is stupid easy, just take your time, have fun...

Doesn't maven have a method of changing springs that you dont need to compress the springs? Ill look for it right now.

edit: Found it

I never would thought of that, I coulda saved $50. Oh well, I'll remember that for next time. This makes it easy enough for someone that has never worked on a car.

hehe, I've seen people use a pair of vise grips on the the shaft to absorb the release of the spring. Highly not recommended...lol

swapping struts, yes, but the Koni's reuse the stock strut housing, and involves a little cutting to make it work. Basically, it's not a bolt on solution. But yes, for any other strut (or the rears for that matter), its the same deal.
