it will fit. although i dont know why you'd want it. still has a 2" narrowing at the flex pipe and that dumb dent in the o2 bung.

because the stock 2.2 downpipe is like half the size. it's a good upgrade to the stock on the 2.2.

WARNING: It doesn't quite fit!!

I installed a 2.0L dp on my 2.2L LS, and I have some rubbing on the sway bar. When starting the engine on an incline, it sorta clunks as the cat hits the sway bar. It also vibrates a bit more than normal. I just cranked down my sway bar bolts today, and it doesn't vibrate quite as much, but it is still there. It also does turn on a CEL.

I was already planning on eventually swapping my full suspension to the ss/sc FE5 suspension, so I have recently decided to swap sooner than planned and see if just changing swaybars is required, or if more is necessary. And of course, I will post my results on CSS.net.

if you'll loosen it up and shift it as far up at it will go and then tighten everytning you can gain an extra 1/4 inch of clearance. the only time i have contact btw the cat and dp is when i bottom out the suspension.

Do you mean pushing the swaybar as far to the front of the car as possible? I tried that earlier today, but I wasn't getting anywhere.

The swaybar bolts to those stabilizer bars at the end, so it can't rotate. And my center two bolt holes weren't lining up once I moved the swaybar in any direction. And even if you could move it forward, wouldn't that be putting a lot of unnecessary stress on the endlinks?

no i was meaning the downpipe, there's a little play in the bolt holes and you can shift it about a quarter inch, i used a jack to push up on it while i tightened everything down and it worked pretty well.

just the downpipe, not more than 30 min. i did the ss/sc manifold and dowmpipe at the same time and it took me about 1 1/2 hrs with a few smoke breaks.

Damn that's not good news for me cause I just got my downpipe off an 06 Cobalt SS Non-Supercharged today. I read the dozens of threads about this topic and I thought that as long as I had both the LSJ Manifold and Downpipe it would fit. Many members here have made this mod and had no problems while others say that No It does not fit over the swaybar I'll find out tomorrow if it works on my 06 cobalt LS (2.2)

I think it has something to do with what kind of cat-back you have. It seems like it would fit better if it had better support from the back exit side. You could probably make more room by shortening the nearest bracket.

On my 2.2 with the LSJ manifold, downpipe, and cat-back exhaust, it rubbed on the front sway bar. I had 2 mechanics work a combined 4 hours on it and they couldn't fix it.

Does anyone have a picture of a 2.2L and a 2.0L swaybars side by side?

UPDATE
Got back from the exhaust shop and the LSJ downpipe fit perfectly.
I asked to see the downpipe installed before he lowered my car off the lift to make sure theres no rubbing and I got about 1 inch clearance so I'll be fine.
I read that lowering your car might cause problems with the LSJ downpipe fitting but im not sure if that's true

Well, every car is built a little. Did you see how much room you have between the dp and swaybar? Pics??

Give it about 4-7 days, and you will get a CEL.

if you don't have a problem getting any of the bolts off it is pretty quick. both times i switched downpipes the bolts at the manifod were a bitch to get off. other than that it's really quick though.

My downpipe is from a recently totaled 2006 Cobalt SS (Non-Supercharged) with low Mileage so I'm hoping it doesn't throw codes.
One of my friends bought a used LSJ Downpipe off a heavily modded cobalt SS/SC and got a C.E.L. that he later found out was caused but the stage 3 the guy ran
