SS/SC Stock Muffler Question (on my 2.2)

Ok so i have purchased the catback from a stock SC. now i know the piping is plenty bigger, nice to open it up a bit. but im wondering about the restrictiveness from the stock muffler. My thoughts were, since it was a supercharged motor/(performance vehicle) that the muffler would be a pretty high flow one. my brother and dad have both said that i should cut that one off the exhaust and buy an aftermarket, like a magnaflow. Thoughts anyone. and if a new muffler, which brand?

umm i mean u can..i would just replace the whole catback. with a aftermarket..i have the GMPP exhaust..the stock resonator n muffler are both restrictive..but what makes it flow better is the bigger pipes..but i would get a whole different catback.

for the money that has already been spent on it, it seems worth it. i got alot bigger piping as compared to the peashooter size of the 2.2. my real question i guess then is will i see any gain whatsoever with replacing the muffler with an aftermarket one.

I put a SS/SC cat back on mine. For the money I think its the best thing. It's going to flow better then the stock pipe and because its factory its not going to sound like a ricer. Only problem is the tailpipe drops about 2 or 3 inches, need to put some straight pipe from the muffler for it to look right.

He has an 07, so no need for the SS/SC exhaust manifold/header. But, the SS/SC downpipe would help.

No cutting there, that's the stock pipe/muffler. Just a creative installation.
