Stage 1 vs 2
Stage 1 vs 2
So I got , intake, 2.4 manifold, long tube header and exhaust, a guy at work says he has cams in his garage he'll give me real cheep, maybe like a thirty pack cheep. Anyway, he's not sure what grind they are, might be stage one might be stage two, of course I wouldn't put anything in with out verifying what they are but what's the power gain differance between stage 1 and stage 2?
I always figured if I went with cams I'd do stage two but hell if the price is right why not...

No way cam's are giving you that much hp on this motor; maybe if you are fully bolted on with everything else that can go into the car.
Stage 1 is probably more like 10 hp, while stage 2 20 tops.
these cars only make 145 hp to the crank; probably 130-135 whp stock. 170 whp would be over 30 hp gain!.

the fastest NA can barely make 13's and that's with only 1 driver i know of on here. He is stage 2; i estimate he is making barely shy of 200 hp to the crank.
that's with everything you can get for a 2.2.
