Stock SS spring or Sportlines?

Would it be worth my while to get a good deal on some used SS's springs or just go with & save up for sportlines?

i want to put 17's on my 4 dr & lower it some but just wanted some input.

thanks,
Dave

depends on how low you wanna go i guess... the sportlines are about the most aggressive lowering spring you can get where the stock ss is going to be barely noticeable might even out the back end a bit... I say sportlines if you wanna go really low or just to level things out i would say get the eibach pro kit :P SS Springs probably not worth it at all.

sportlines or similar, SS will only drop a tiny but all they will do is improve handling a lil

yeah, i want to lower it but not like a ton. i was looking at the pro kit too. ill prob end up going with that instead. with some 17's & the pro kit which drops it 1.4 front & back it should look nice.

ss wont lower your car that much. and you still got a gap when you get wheels and ss springs. go get sportlines

I've done the SS to LT spring swap and I can tell you it doesn't drop it much at all. Go with the Sportlines and you will be happy.

No. But here's an SS sedan (my old car) with the Sportlines.

Let me know if you need more, or close ups of the wheel gaps.

It looks ok but there's still a big gap
Look
FE5 Shocks/Struts with Prokit on 17" Rims

here...h&r sport springs (eleventy billion times better then sportlines lol..lower drop, better handeling...= awesome) and ss springs, both are base model ls cobalts, mine is the silver on h&r, gfs is on ss/sc (sportlines are about the same as the h&r drop wise...just about .1-.2 less) and mine has 17" rims with REALLY low pro tires
easiest way to show this=

some more pics to show

Nice Drop
If I ever go with koni shocks I'll be sure to drop with h&r springs. Nothing against sportlines I'm just looking to lower as much as I can without going into coilovers.

I noticed the H&R Race Springs lower just a bit more than the sport springs.

in the front yes, but in the rear no

and yes, they will work with stock struts and shocks, bu tyou will get a better ride and better handeling out of nicer ones, even if it is just ss/sc/ or ss/tc ones

If I was you I would buy new ones because the ride would be good until they blow then the ride would be horrible...or just save up around a thousand dollars and get coilovers but its your choice and either will be a good one...

Sportlines or H&R are what you want for springs.

I have Sportlines on stock shocks/struts(FE1) and it's an OK ride. I'm going to be upgrading to SS/TC shocks and struts in the future (maybe next summer...depends how long mine make it....I've been lowered for about 8 months so far).
