Stupid to get gauges in 2.2?

I was just wondering if its stupid to get gauges in my 2.2 since i dont really need them and i have like no performance mods... the reason i'm askin is because my friend said he would sell me his cobalt air-fuel ratio gauge for cheap since he is getting a wideband... so is it worth the money or just a useless mod?

Depends on what guages you plan on getting.

Guage with information you cannot get from you driver information center in the instrument cluster are ok. But if it info you can get from that, then a guage is just redundant and unnecessary.

If they are not functional, I see no reason to add them to your car.

The gauge you are specifically talking about, the Autometer Cobalt AFR, is a narrow band gauge and won't do much for you at all. There are some fun gauges you can put in a 2.2 that can be very useful. The Autometer D-PIC for instance.

Ya im not really concerned with haters or anything, im just wondering if its worth the money, and i am talkin about the autometer narrowband and i know it wont do much but im almost getting it for free so... and i understand about the non-functional argument, and it would be functional but not really necessary...

Like I said before, if it is info you can't normally get from any of the car's guages or information center, then go for it.

It's your car.

I plan on getting some that I think everyone should have instead of just dummy lights. These would be:

Oil Pressure
Battery Voltage
Water Temp (accessable thru the information center but just like to be able to glance at it)

Those are what I want! Heck my base-model Beretta had all those 15 years ago. I don't know why they aren't included anymore; its my only real gripe about the interior of the Cobalt.

because, they cause issues.

if you don't need those sorts of gauges, why have them?

what would happen is, if they were REAL gauges, and not just idiot displays, then you'd have people in wanting to know why their neighbors car idled with 3 more psi or oil pressure and .2 more volts.

Adding Anything into a 2.2 is a waste of money... save it and put it towards a upgrade to an 08 ss/sc
