throttle body

Has anyone tried or have swapped out the throttle body on our cars. I know that the cavy has a cable drivin throttle body will that throttle body work on our cars? The only reason that I am asking is because one of my buddies has a 04 cavy and his car goes right when he hits the gas, my car which has a computer controlled throttle body has a little delay to it. Can we swap out our throttle body or is there anyway to get that delay to go away. Sorry if this has already been asked I didnt really look into it.

The hesitation is really not a result of your electronic throttle body. Trust me, when you hit the pedal, the butterfly opens right away. It's actually more to do with the air box. The stock air box really bogs things down on a quick start.

Good point! so one thing that helps this is an intake, and if you like throttle response keep it SRhttps://www.cobaltss.net/forums/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif

The jump to the right is torque steer and is the result of our amazing low end power.

someone in the how-to section installed a throttle body from saturnmotorsports.com. This will fit our car, but I don't know if the gains are that good. Here is the link to his how-to install. But with what everyone else is saying, the biggest helper will be an intake, which I need to get very badly.

they did port the opening but as the guy says, it is only 3-4 mm. i am still debating if this is worth the money.

edit: After doing some calculations for the change in opening size, it comes out to about 11% bigger opening.

stock:
(35mm)^2*pi ~ 3850mm^2
SMS
(37mm)^2*pi ~ 4300mm^2
%change
(4300-3850)/3850 ~ 11%

Sorry for the math lessons, but the engineer in me just had to go there.

I just had one custom made. 69-62-62. Made a HUGE difference on my car. Don't know why y'all can't do it on your cars.
