Throttle Body Question

If a 2.4 mani swap is done can you add the 60mm tb from MRZ, or the 62mm. Can either one be added on with out any problems?

And if you put a bigger TB on that fit, you would need to be tuned for it because at each throttle position, you would be letting in more air than with the stock TB.

Yeah drive by wire systems aren't to mod friendly unless tuned for things.

ya you could get a t.b. off a 2.4 or 2.0 if you want bigger, but youd need a tune afterwards or youll be riding with that nice orange check engine light lol

Youll be driving a car in limp mode. Tried it with spanky monkeys car, it worked AWESOME for like 15 mins.

Your L61 already has a 60mm TB, the LE5 has a 65mm you could use with a tune, but there are no documeneted advantages

those cams are getting air...the stock TB is not a restriction at those power levels...

This is assuming that the L61 has an already oversized throttle body comapred to its airflow requirements.

Without dyno results its easy to support the "its plenty big" or the "it needs bigger" argument based on the size of the LE5 TB.

EDIT: I did a lot more math that no one except for me cars about, but it comes down to if we assume that the LE5 TB is the proper size, then the L61 should really have a 62.5mm TB for best performance. And if we go on the premise that the L61 TB is all you need then that means that the LE5 really needs a 62.5mmTB and its current 65 is actually too big.

i would argue the LE5's is too big then. there are several people wh installed a LE5 TB on their L61, and saw no gains at all. all it did was make a more sensitive gas pedal.

i have KnN intake, Le5 intake manifold, vibrant header/dp, 2.5" exhaust, no CELs related to any mods, and i have solid tranny mounts, with a solid engine mount on the way...no cels related to any mods, only have 3 active cels and 3 pending, which are all b/c of a bad rear o2, which ima just have deleted when i get a tune

your CEL is caused by the lack of a cat. it wont affect performance...its just on to tell you that you're failing emissions and need to get your cat checked out.
