damn you guys a pretty lucky my LS tops out a 110 and ive been tryiing to find someway past it all i have done to my car is the air silencer taken out and 18" Quantum rims

 

I've seen the bottom of my white face gauges when my car LT was still stock. I had 140 and still plenty of rev so i backed out. That and when a 3.1l cavy walks past u at 135 u start to feel week lol. ill take 140 over any kinda drug on the market nothin like a good ole adrenaline rush to get the heart pumping lol.

i have an 08 LT with the Hankook tires, i know they are H-rated which means 130mph, but my speedo goes to 120?

no, the cars with lower rated tires top out at 106-112 range, where guys with 2.2s that have the higher rated tires have hit 120+

Ive had mine to 128 on the road...i have 130mph rated tires and ss/sc springs though...so ya...i had my gfs ls on stock everythign to 105..pretty steddy...but no more then that!!![/QUOTE]

I was next to my buddy who has a modded stratuse rt and he said his tack was reading 137 and im fully bolted it felt good too but after my ticket i have relized there really isnt a good reason to go that fast unless ur on the track 4 points and a 240 dollar ticket is not to fun

 

^^^ Thats why you get a V1, haha. Saved me many times from tickets, but you are def. right.... there is no point in going that fast.

Idk what my top speed is... I always run out of road at like 118. Damn curvy ass NC roads.

 

When i first got my tune from Vince. i went to the dyno and had z rated tires the car went all the way to 170 ON THE DYNO. not the street

 

just because the tires are rated to 130 doesn't mean the car can go to 130.

The fastest that i have gotten the car too is 130 and even with the suspension mods its still scary

Speedo means nothing.

 

Every time i try to top out in my car, I have it in 4th, then it chokes up and quits revving (no its not the rev limiter. Yes im positive) so i put it in 5th and then it just lugs its way up to 116-117 and quits pulling. its a pretty noticible lurch foward when it quits and the motor starts sounding worse than when it was bogging so im figuring that im hitting some kind of limiter wether it be fuel or ignition. i have 17 inch wheels with maxxis tires, not sure on the demensions but i know that when i had them put on they told me that they were a tad bigger than the stocks so I would need to watch my speed because i would be going a little faster than the speedo was reading. are you guys thats taking your ls models to 120+ doing computer mods? or does every ls model not come out with the same limiter? I have an 07 by the way.

only ever been to 155 than a enzo walked by me like i wasn't moving if only i had that much money

 

no just cuz ur gauge says 120mph does not mean u can go that fast(gov) my LS says 120 but it shuts off at like 114 or so
