two questions...

Ok first question; I have a 5 speed and when I get on the brakes to stop wether im in neutral or if im in gear with the clutch in the rpms hang at like 1200 until I come to an absolute stop. is that normal? also are there any cams sold for a 07 that are just ready to put in or do you have to get cam sensors pressed on?

Yes that is normal, at least from all the manuals I have drove (cobalts)

Also the 2005-06 are drop in from comp cams. The 2007-09 have the extra sensor pickup on them, making them not a direct drop in cam set.

Alright cool thanks for the help. I just wanted to make sure it wasent a problem I needed to adress. So is the sensor something thats difficult to put on the camshaft? is it something that an average mechanic could do?

You would need to precissionly push on the trigger wheel, I am not sure how many shops would actually do this and get it right.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but can't you tune out the cam sensor in the 07-09's with a Trifecta tune?

yes please. It would be alot easier to just tune it out instead of messing with it.

Okay Vince says: Yes, I can disable the diagnostic codes that come up, but I am not sure if the car will run without the cam sensor. Let me look into this.

whoa now folks.

Vince at Trifecta told me he can disable the cam sensor, thereby allowing 07+ cobalt l61's to get cams without custom press work.

Meh...hopefully they'll have it perfected by the time I get around to getting cams, which will be no time soon.
