valve cover

I am looking at getting a powder coated valve cover but instead of using my original cover and being without a car for a couple days I was wondering if anyone knew if what other cars with the 2.2L engine would have a cover that would work for our car. I was looking at my fiancee's 2003 sunfire with a 2.2 and it looked almost identical. The reason i want to know is so i can possibly just get one from the local junk yard and have my buddy powder it for me. Thanks

goto any local junk yard and pick up a valve cover off any 2.2 ecotec and it will work. Cavaliers and Sunfires have them, just make sure you say 2.2 ecotec and not 2200 because theres a big difference. Sorry i cant help with years though

You could save some trouble and probably money too by just buying a power coated cover. Modern Performance here on the site sells them.

If you use an old cover, be sure to prep the surface well before sending it to the shop.

i do like the idea from modernperformance but they dont offer the color that i want. Also i looked at fredbeansparts and i can get a new cover for $100 so ill have to talk to my guy and see how much he can powder it for me and if its more than $100 than i may just call MP and ask if they can do a different color than what is listed

Modern Performance can probably powder coat anything within reason for you. I certainly don't speak for them, but they are in the process of powder coating a DC Sports strut bar for me. Give them a call at 713 270-8520

We also do in house powder coating, any color you would like we can do. Just email us a phot of the part and we can quote you. If you have received a quote else where please let us know where it is from and the price you were quoted, we will try to beat their price.
