Cams

Here is a set FS and still brand new
https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/parts-66/fs-comp-cams-stage-1-new-126886/

Here is some images of my install
https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/2-2l-l61-performance-tech-45/installed-stage-2-comp-cams-yesterday-122482/

THE CAMS ARE DIFFIDENTLY WORTH IT. i would take it to a dealer to do the work. unless your very good and motors. it should only be about 358 for the labor.

so people dog me for how installed the cams on my car. but oh well have 2000miles on them already and redline it almost every other day. smoked a 2.4 the other night.

the cost of the tune i think was like 250 for repeat customer. and i still have the tuner after two weeks. cause my computer is different than the 07s

umm right now im seeing a nice gain of power since i live in a high elavation area but it has a faster response. about the dyno i wont be able to cause of money i would rather buy parts then dyno now. but the next thing is headers and a high flow cat and ill see if vince can send me a tune for that.but for hp gains im thinking maybe 10 not alot but nice response on the throttle.

i dont feel much gain either in mine. i do only have CAI and catback but even if i was stock, i should feel the 4hp gain a lil. but i should be feeling about 6 to 7 cause a few mods.

Im going to have to email or call vince see whats up. i live in VA so its pretty flat but dont know about evalation (spelling).

have any of you data logged your cars since the tune? and you have to dyno it and give vince the AFR #'s cause the data log only shows mV (mil volts) when i first got the tune i ran only 3hp with all the moddes i have excepted the cams. once i showed vince the dyno chart he saw what i was missing and then i jumped 10hp 4 more hp than the test car he first did the tune on.

i wouldn't even waste your time if you have a manual. when you start the car that idle will be all over the place and you'll be lucky to even have the car start. then if you do get it started. every time you come to a stop it will stall

X2
Mine stalled around 15 times on my short drive back home. The rpm's jump erraticly, the car will stall at idle unless you hold the gas pedal down at every red light or stop sign.
It's not worth spending any amount of $$$ to dyno without tuning first.

interesting...very interesting, so basically i would drive it like the idle air control valve was bad, which we dont have, but i had to drive a car with a bad idle air, put the ebakre up at a stop than gas'd it a bit, when leaving i gassed it more to fight brake than let it down, lol

i just went to the track and ran 16.5 82 mph but that is after driving for a hour or more to get there so the engine is already hot. my next run was 16.5 but my reaction time was
.626 lol i wasnt paying attention and though another light was going to come on after the green lit... the first run reaction was .255. the second run i got to 84.5 mph

on the first run, it took the car 6 secs to climb 15 mph.... thats fcked.
i thought i was going to be alteast runnying 16 flat. yes, i only have CAi, catback and tune but i thought it would be a lil more.

i got a better launch and stuff on the second run. if the reaction time would of been the same as first or even faster, thats .4 secs i could of shaved so i would of hit the 16.1 ish area. that would be what im looking for for only the mods i have.
60 ft is 2.5 and 1/8mile is 68 mph at 10.6ish dont know why its take me so damn long to get mph in the back. i got the speed and govener off.

well i should be getting a 2.4intake mani so that should add some real power in my car. i'll get a dyno after that and view the air to fuel ratio and go from there.

yeah im an auto. I start off in L and hold the brake til 2k cause thats where its maxed in L or D. i let the break go and it shifts into 2nd and i let it go til about 6.5k to 7k rpms.
the first track time, it took me to get 15 mph in 6 secs and thats slow as **** i think.
i thought i would be running 16s too cause the tune and CAI but the track says otherwise.

i dont know if its the tune or just cause its auto and i cant start the launch reved to 4k, only 2k. 4k is really where my car pulls. i was thinking N bombing it from 4k or so but wasnt sure if i should or not.

Wow , sooo what do you log the data with? The hp tuner? How do you get the info back to Vince once you send the tuner back??

.255 reaction time? LOL are you on drugs? Down syndrome perhaps?? J/P lol sounds to me like your waiting til green to go. Go on the amber light before green or the 2nd to last one depending on ur launch style. Human reaction time will compensate trust me. Not to mention time of lifting off the clutch, wheel spin, etc.

Also too add .. If its an automatic .. I believe turn off Overdrive and just start in drive. All your gonna do is COOK your tranny . DO NOT SHIFT. L is for TOWING if you have to or making up a REALLY steep hill.

how do you turn off overdrive for the launch. yes, i do wait for the green light but i will not next time. this was first time at track ofcourse and not sure how the lights worked up close. seen many drag shows but didnt know when to launch. wondered how the mustang next to me got .0015 lol
so how do i take off overdrive and just start in D? i start in L to take off traction control, it red lines and goes second, i wait til 6.5 to 7k in second then shift it to D.

next time im at track, i should have 2.4 intake mani and maybe 2.5 dp too.

Thanks

I dont log anything cause i dont have hp tuners or havent been to dyno yet either so i have not emailed vince any stats just MPG and how the auto tranny shifts quicker. I been meaning to get a apt with dyno which after the intake mani, i think im going to dyno before i get the dp. so intake mani, dyno, then dp. cause i wanna atleast help him out with auto 07 before deployment.

wow, i ran 16.54 stock, 15.7 with full lsj exhaust, and now i shoul run even quicker since i have a full aftermarket exhaust

and in a moonth or 2 i should have stg1 cams, man the track must suck were u live, cuz i ran a 16.1 on stock exhaust with intake and ttr tranny mounts in 98* weather after a 1.5hr drive to the track
