I've gone into my dealership before hoping they could get my car done that day, but as I stand right in front of them and look at their full schedule, I shut my mouth and take my lumps.

In that case it was the A/C compressor, they had to wait for it to come in so the tech removed the A/C clutch so I could keep driving it without noise. When it came in they called me and I made an appointment(the reason you may not have been the first in line). I took the car in and waited, also watched the tech from across the floor(behind the yellow line). Took about an hour.

Anyway, just saying, you may think you were in there first, but they may have had appointment for other people.
Exactly.

First in the morning doesn't mean first to be served. There could have been other people before you that had to leave their car there over night too.

suck it up.

well i took the car to pontiac dealer, it was a 45 min drive, i drove the car 45 mins with then check engine light FLASHING, i told them how they did me at the chevy dealer, they even said it was rediculous that n that much time they didnt even pull the codes yet, so yeah, guess what? in and out like nothin, i went in, on a saturday, and was out in 2 hours, and only cuz me and tech were drinking coffee, cool thng is that the tech is my buddy(and president of the club m in), so we drank some coffee, talked, and than we took the ICM from a HHR they had in the used cars lot, and put it on my car, guess what? problem found, funny thing is that he knew it was the ICM when i called him, he diagnosed it thru the phone lol, but yeah, my car is running on a new ICM , only thing is that its idling at 1200rpm, well my car feels better now, and i had no other problems, the job was done quick, and was pretty simple, it counted for .3 hours of labor, i dont see how chevy made me wait 4.5 hours, rediculous, definately gunna mention to GM how maxwell pontiac did it in same day, with very great service

ps-i was getting 7.2 miled to the gallon, and was running on 2 cylinders, the rest of the gas was coming out the exhaust, it smelled so bad when you stand next to the car at idle

holy old thread revival... but the thing bout the bosch's not burnin hot enough for american cars is incorrect. they burn to hot for american cars. either way they are not the best to use by any means. stick with ngk's or ac delco.

wow this thread is old...but yeah morale of the story...if the dealer bitches, file a complaint with Gm customer service, and write a letter to the general manager of the dealer, i know someone got a bonus cut from my complaint...i had a friend that worked in the first dealer i went too dont make me wait 4hrs and expect it to be all cool...

p.s. i later found out i was running on 2 cylinders, ICM went out, only 1 and 4 were getting spark, cat went bad the next day, probably that same day, but i didn't get a code untl the next day, i drove 45min running on 2 cylinders, all that fuel was dumped straight into the exhaust, i left a trail of burnt gas behind me, my friend that was follwing me to the dealer(incase something just decided to go booom) decided to drive in front of me instead of behind me b/c of the fumes

2 years ago my car was in for warrenty repairs and it was only a 1 hour job.
8 hours later they phoned me and said they could not get it done but they at least they offered me a Dodge Caravan rental completely free of charge.
Dealerships like this are the good ones and of course I've delt with dealers that spoke to me in a rude and insulting way when I tried to buy 2 camshaft sprocket bolts for my STG. 1 Comp cams
This one jerk looked at me and said "Why do you need to change the cams" then after he found the part# he said " You need two of those bolts or what?"
The diagram infront of his computer showed how my engine has dual overhead cams and this was suppose to be their parts guy

^^ i dont blame the plugs personally... a plug is a plug...its a simple component and hard to mess them up. it was probably a coincidence. i ran Bosch +2's for a good amount of time with no trouble
