Warranty Question

Does anyone know if adding an aftermarket exhaust or a supercharger would void the warranty

exhaust no....supercharger yes....

basically, if its bolt-on you are relatively safe - they have to prove the part caused the malfunction.
if you searched you would find the exact thing you were looking for.

nope you guys are wrong lol
s/c will not void warrenty IF you buy it and install from the dealer, gm offers a 2.2 supercharge kit for 2300 i believe. however if you buy second hand or even from new but not from gm they will not void the warranty unless the s/c install caused the problem. This is what Carrol GM in bridgewater explained to me.

That kit is for the Cavalier, it will physically bolt on to a 2.2 L61 cobalt but the ECM from GM will not work at all. You will have no tuning which means you need an aftermarket tune which will void your warranty. The kit will violate the warranty on a cobalt.

This is correct...there is no dealer installed SC kit for the Cobalt. The one listed in the parts book is for the Cavalier, not the Cobalt.
