what do you think

ok. s,i have been looking on numerous site for ways to bump up my hp in my cobalt. i have a 06 with a 2.2. i have 3 years left on my loan before i actually own my car. i use it for work right now because i drive daily.. anyways.. i took a extended warrenty that ends at 74 k. after paying my car off its 3 options. i cant turbo charge my 2.2 because by the time im ready the tunning should be out. two get a 2.0 supercharged engine and tranny and swap it in. or number three which i am leaning more towards would be drop the 4 cylinder and cut my firewall and actually make my car rear wheel drive with a 350 and a turbo 350 transmission.. i mean a slightly modified v 8 and match up to a decently modified straight 4. im big into the customization , im currently working on a pontiac lemans with a sbc in it, ladder bars coils etc.. back to the subject i just think it would be just completely different to have a rear wheel drive cobalt with some intense power. and a old school drive train. the conversion would defiantly be a serious project but im almost positive i can do it. cut the firewall make my own cross members engine mounts reinforce the frame and build a new floor..possibly like a 4 link rear or a ladder bar.. i dunno its a though, and im probably ganna get **** for posting this but i just think its be pretty cool to do. i dunno what do u think.

Check out Victory Red's project. His is a 2.0, but when you throw this much $ into it, it doesn't really matter what Cobalt platform you start with.

Well first off, you have to shrink your sig..Then you can begin modding the car. A nice turbo setup is always nice.

thats pretty intense.. seriously thats awesome. just wish he was throwing a 8 in there.. it will fit i know it will because i helped my friend put a big block in his s10 and the compartments art that much of a difference.. the tranny and engine would obviously go in at separate times because the angle that small blocks are at it wont drop in correctly. i def think this can be done. turbo 350 tranny would be sick but maybe a monsie rocker 4 spd would be cool. i have a few kicking around. i dunno its def soemthign i can think about and save for in the next 3 years

option 1 is promising and will be attainable.

option 2 will be attainable, but will involve a lot of work.

option 3 sounds like it would be a year or two project, and would have to rebuild the entire car.

If you are willing to stick it out, do option 3, it will be the only balt like it ever.

Option 2 will give you similar peformance as option 1.

Option 1 would be good if you want to race for cheep. If you build the entire motor, would give you more power and reliability.

I'm actually thinking about doing an engine swap sometime in the future... the one that I think I'm going to go with is the 3.8L 3800 Series III from GMPP. It's the engine in the Grand Prix GTP and I think that it's gonna be a good choice for the car. I'm just waiting until my warranty is up... which will be a little while... but after that it's gonna be this engine and i'll probably upgrade the SC on it. Hope you enjoy whatever it is that you do to your balt. I know i will.

What does everyone think of my idea?
