good question.

I was thinking the other day how EFFIN cool it would be to stuff that LS4 in there from the Impala SS!!!

a lot of weight though, and I can make plenty of power with a built and supercharged 2.2

bump for a better answer

I think the easiest way to drop a larger engine into the cobalt would be to go with the standard Chevy 350 small block, and then convert the car to RWD. That would probably be the cheapest for the most power. Although, pretty much any engine that you swap into there would be easier to go RWD than remain FWD.

I'd think any V8 would be too long to fit w/out hacking a lot of the sheet metal to get it to fit. A V6 wouldn't be too bad a fit. I'd actually like to see the 3.6 dohc and 6spd auto swapped in a Cobalt. Spray that dude w/a 100 shot and look out!!

to the op: stick with the ecotec or get a different car. if you have to ask a question like that, you obviously aren't capable of doing such a swap.

to the mods: this thread doesn't belong in this forum. can someone please move it to the "nubsticks benchracer" forum?

i thought i did leave an opinion. let me repeat: stick with the ecotec or get a different car. you'd end up paying someone more than the car is worth to swap in a big motor and drivetrain.

besides, this is the 2.2 engine performance forum. and no, engine swap threads don't fit in that category. all of these moronic "opinionated" threads are what makes css.net a pain in the ass. you have to sift through pages and pages of bullshit and "what intake/exhaust/led tail lights/crappy m3 mirrors/jdm engine/steering wheel cover should i get?".

Why would you swap motors? GM has a published build book for the 2.2 Ecotec that gives you stages all the way to 1400HP.

Way way offtopic

But it's advice, not advise.

How does an engine swap have to to do with a 2.2 engine if you're thinking about(I don't know why you would) swapping in a different engine.

I'm 18, but then again I have always been very mature for my age.
